How old are you corvette guys???
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
My advice is to: #1 go to school, #2 go to class EVERY day (unless you cannot physically move due to illness NOT from a drinking binge), #3 do you homework!!! It is worth it. Just takes time and patience.
As far as affording one when you are young think of this:
Military pay for a dorm rat. ~$1400 take home, zero expense free food etc, etc, etc, you only have to pay for a phone and soiled socks and underware.
My car payment is $700 a month and $260 a month for insurance at 24 years old. $1400 take home is pretty damn good, if you are still 18-19 then the insurance could go up to around $300-$400. You would own a C5 used Corvette but you would live like a pauper.
Now for a civilian you would have to make around $600 a month more and live in a rat hole. Oh yeah, and you would not be able to drive the car much due to gas etc. If you made $15 a hour you might be able to actually drive a used C5 around. Of course you could own a F-Body and live like a king, but then again you could also drive a Prius and live like a hippy.

Picked up my C5 this year @ 25 years old. I work in IT. My loan payment is $350/month - I could have gotten a C6, but that might squeeze me a bit.
What does everyone else with these nice rides do for a living?
Thank you... someone got it, You guys are great... I'll be here all week
