Default The Wave

Ok i know its a stupid thread, but i have to ask:

Does the corvette wave happen everywhere in the US?

I know everyone around Michigan waves when another vette rolls by. At least the other vettes that roll by.

I don't own a vette, but my dad does, and I drive it like every weekend in the summer when he is at the cottage. I am in Love with it, and am lookin into gettin my own soon.

I'm a fairly new vette owner, (about 3 months) and here in the DFW area, most of the time when another vette owner passes, I almost always get a wave/nod, some kind of acknowledgement. There is a new C6 owner who lives nearby, who I've seen that never seems to notice anything, except himself...

I never heard of "the wave" till I got a vette, its been standard practice for everybody I know that if you see the same type of car as your driving to give a wave, so naturally everytime I see a vette I give the wave, about 50% do the same sometimes they just might not see you so dont worry about it, just give them the finger, they wont see it behind them, lol..j/k.... haha so just remember all you non wave vette owners, your getting the finger when you dont wave, lmao.... I'm tired....

The wave is everywhere, even up here in Canada. It's been a Corvette tradition since the beginning. Actually, the wave started well before that, it was common for any sports car owner to wave to another sports car back then (of course they were much less common in those days) It's also customary for motorcycle riders to wave although that happens less often nowadays.

I find I only get about half of the Corvette owners waving back to me. The rest look at me like I'm from another planet.

LOL.

I never wave,...maybe a nod, usually the finger. I understand whats behind it but,...you gotta understand, there's ALOT of vettes down here. Gets old after a while.

...now a hot female waveing, behind the seat of a vette,...thats a different story.

I know I'm not a Corvette owner but hope to be when I get out of college.

Anyway still driving a Camaro I think it's cool to wave to other GM people just not Corvettes. I wave to them all, Corvettes, Camaros, Trans Ams, and GTOs. So if I see them I give them a wave or a thumbs up out the window. But not once out of all the times doing that have I received a thumbs up or a wave back. Like Patman said most of them look at you like you’re from another planet. So that makes me a virgin when it comes to the wave.

I think part of it has to do with the drivers/buyers of these cars lately. Most people are buying these cars for the name that they have or just want to be seen in one and they're not true car enthusiasts and probably wouldn't know a air filter to a spark plug. Just my 2 cents. Rant over.

I bet he thinks his is better because it's a C6... If it's the maroon clored one it could be the lady that works are Braums, she won a brand new C6 from buying a $250 raffler ticket... lol

Yes, I wave and most other C5/C6 owners way at me... sometimes I rev up a bit as I wave... That's talent.

Actually, it's black. He lives in the Lakewood Mountain Valley area. I actually spoke with the owner's husband of the maroon one that was won. He works at Lynn Smith...really nice guy...lucky bast@rd! Lol. I wish I won mine; monthly payments suck!
