corvette v10

would a viper v10 from a '98 GTS fit into my c5's engine bay?

Don't think so, but why would you want to do that? You can get all the power you need out of a V8. They have 1000+hp turbo C5's. Not only that but it even if you could fit it in, it would be very cost prohibitive. For the money you would spend doing that conversion, you could have yourself a mean freakin machine. Even if you got the motor completely free, I would still advise against it.

i was just thinking of how rare it'd be to have an 8 liter V10 w/full exhaust,intake and cam w/ GOBS of torque under the hood of a 3200 lb car.

If it were me I would go for a built 408 with a turbo. You could see some pretty crazy numbers with the right set up.

I did headers and full exhaust from two reputible companies on a 05 viper and both times that 505 hp V10 responded by loosing ALL its torque. it could barley spin the meats in first (on a roll) It was lots more peppy stock. My opinion is the LSx engines are ten times the engine. Plus the tricked out V10s sound like a cross between a indy car and a civic with no muffler.
