99 C5 Clutch Install

Any tips or where to look for a how to? It doesn't look fun. What is an average labor charge for a clutch install?

Check LS1howto.com and Google it. I saw another person complete a write up on his experience in doing one from the ground with just floor jacks and jack stands. It can be done but is very tedious and quite a bit of work for the DIY driveway mechanic. I REALLY suggest using a lift.

I've done quite a few and 3-4 hours is not uncommon. I think book time at a dealer is probably 4-5 hours. Good luck with what you choose. Are you moving up to the LS7 clutch ?

The job sucks....for the record.

It isn't rocket science but,..it's involved for a friggin' clutch swap.

i have step by step instructions from gm,transmission along with torque tube and diff come out so rear suspension carrier has to come out also.

Thanks. Those write up will help a lot. We will be using a lift and I think the guy is going to go with Spec 3. Not my car so I'm not picking the clutch.
