Default Vibration - Clutch/ Engine???

I've felt a vibration in my clutch pedal when I touch it lightly, and I've noticed a vibration in the drivetrain at certain RPM's. The car idles perfectly so I don't think it is an engine problem. (going down the road with the clutch in there is no vibration) The clutch seems to be still gripping fine, but after seeing the horror story about what happens when a clutch comes apart in one of these things (V Tech I think, that was you) its not something I wanna mess around with.

I've also just put on LG LT and haven't had a chance to get a dyno tune, so I don't know if that would have anything to do with it. Any suggestions

What year/model car and is your clutch the original OEM?

The car is an 01, and as far as I know the clutch is stock ( I bought it from a dealer and they didn't have any info on that)

pop the clutch return spring and see if that helps. It's a thick spring located on the clutch pedal, all you need is a flathead screwdriver.

A little vibration in the pedal isn't unusual. Same with the shifter.

I haven't read or heard of any Z06 stock clutch coming apart. So wouldn't worry about that.

Bad vibration sometimes occurs after a clutch swap where the new parts are out of balance or improperly installed (index of the flywheel lost, for example). But from your description, the vibration you have seems minimal.

And Hi Nautilus, expect I'll be more active here than before.

there's an offset hole on the f/w, i've always wondered why gm tells you to mark/index the f/w when the hole makes this almost impossible to miss

Scribing the flywheel to the crankshaft is crucial before removing the FW. That hole you're referring to doesn't represent an index point.

I learned way more than I ever sought to know when a tech lost the index point on my 2001 Z06 when he remove the flywheel WITHOUT marking a scribe to the crank. The new clutch and two more vibrated badly enough to knock out your fillings.

The end result was two field engineers from Chevy powertrain dispatched to the dealer to rebalance my engine using specializedd equipment. They got it right. But the car was done for 24 days. The root cause was the lost index of the FW.

Don't you also have to index the driveshaft when you take it out?
