weight difference between FRC and coupe
Uhh....ya. Any FWD will pull better 60's than that.
w/ the same tires but a 1/2 tank of gas i was cutting 2.1s on a different day. unless the day i was cutting 2.0s the track prep was shitty.

If you have an auto C5 with every last option Your looking at 3280 pounds. Then dont forget that many mags weighed the coupe c5 with the extra targa roof in the back trunk the way it came from the factory. Thats an extra 30 pounds bringing the total to 3310 pounds with a full tank of gas...
Take that same factory 3310 pound C5 coupe to the track with a 1/4 tank of gas and the extra roof sitting in your garage and your driving a 3230 pound vette.
Take off the targa top and now that same 3310 pound Coupe that turned into a 3230 pound car by only having a 1/4 tank of gas and no extra roof in the back trunk is a 3200 pound Vette with the arodynamics of a truck ( but it's still light for arguments sake)
But to be totaly honest Id rather have the 3260 pound coupe than the 3160 pound FRC.
Yes the 100 pounds is an advantage at the strip. But the .29 drag for the coupe vrs the .32 drag for the FRC is an advantage on the highway rolls for the coupe..
Pretty easy to make your car loose weight. Changing the arodynamic drag rating is a little nore tricky.
I wouldnt be surpised if my car weighed in at 31xx pounds right now.
-ls6 heads ( lighter than ls1) I forget weight savings
-borla straight pipe exhaust (lighter than stock cat back) 20 pounds weight savings
-straight pipes( lighter than factory cats) 10 pounds weight savings
-removed tire sensors ..not sure about the weight savings
