part help
Nothing really man. Just do a full rotation of the camshaft(the original one, iwhile in the valley)....all the lifters should go up, and stay right where they are, in the UP position. Don't do the swap, or should I say don't remove the original camshaft until you have the other to replace it with, immediatly. The lifters will stay in place.
Do it slowly, take your time, and you won't have a problem.
PM me if you need any torque specs, etc etc

BUY THE DOWEL!!! I have dropped a lifter in the motor and it wasnt fn pulling the cradle out and the oil pan off.
This is the correct tool, it is a bit pricey, but it sure beats having to do an astronomical amount of work if a lifter falls.
I have done it with just rolling the cam a few times and getting the lifters to stay up, but if they do decide to fall, that really really sucks.

Speed up your LS1 cam installation with JPR's new cam installation tool. These slipper handles are designed to support the lifters in the engine while you remove and replace your camshaft. No need to hurry because there is no fear of the lifters falling while using this tool. Designed to work with OEM style lifters and will not work with Comp "R" lifters.

I dont trust, just spinning the lifters. Buddy of mine has a PIMP tool he machined for doing cam installs. Does them everyday as a technician. It's a lil overkill, but nice PIMP tool.
