corvette CCW drag pack owners
Im not sure if anyone might be interested in a trade for some Z06 motorsport wheels 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 with the front tires new 275-40-17 kumho tires and the rears 335-30-18 perelli p-zero's . The rears are a little dried out but not bad with 4/32 tread,Ive been driving on them for a while now. One of the front rims has a scuff on it about 4 inches long on the outer lip. Id meet you half way to exchangeor work something out for shipping. Let me know. Im only interested in the CCW drag pack only with tires.

It is going very slow. Everyone seems to be holding me back as far as time and parts. Companies say they shipped things ,then a week later they never did and it will be another week. I may have my camaro sold this week. If I can sell it I will be building a 6.0 iron block . It will be totally built and forged. We will see I guess. As far as my turbos go Pro turbo and Precision say they will be big enough for stock cubic inch ,but looking at them I dont know. They are 44mm inducer 57mm exducer with .60 A/R on inlet and .68 A/R exhaust. The exhuast seems to small to me, especially for the iron block 366 CID if I can swing that. I was wanting to get my heads and cam in, but now these freaking companies are taking their sweet time shipping my parts. Maybe thats a good thing if I can end up selling my camaro and building the whole thing. I dont think even with the stock motor I will have any traction under boost. So thats why I need a drag setup.

FWIW,
I have done A LOT of personal testing with wheels/drs/et streets on my 97'.......
You may do just fine with the 275/40/17 MT ET Street DR on a 17 x 8.5 OEM wheel........I have been cutting 1.49 60's w/o issue and it's an inexpensive set-up
I have found the CCW drag pack knocks off no more than 1/10th as far as rotating mass vs street wheels. Here are some 60' times:
New 275/40/17 on C5 OEM 17 x 8.5 Magnesium wheels = 1.49 60'
Worn out 26 x 11.50 x 16" Mt ET Street on a 16 x 10 CCW drag pack = 1.51 60'
New 26 x 11.50 x 17" Mt ET Street on an PWO Y2K 5 spoke 17 x 8.5 = 1.53 60'
1/2 worn 345/30/18 bfg dr on HRE 545 18 x 12 wheel = 1.49 60'
I have over 150 passes on these set-ups together and at different tracks....
My consolidated list of personal stock, I can speak to any of these you have a question on:

Your car seems to be just one of those hookin cars. No corvette Ive seen at the tracks down here will cut those 60's . I know leaving on a 2 step with 900 rwhp will spin drag radails. So If you want to trade you CCW wheels for mine cause you dont need them let me know.

I believe from experience it will be much harder to get the stick to hook than an auto. It will also be harder to get it to hook all the way down the track unfortunatly. I just had to get the FRC model thou.

Well...........25+ years of all kinds of racing experience doen't hurt either
Bone stock F45 suspension too......
After you get it dialed in even a 6 speed can do it
Keeping a tire pressure/temp/DA log will be your friend.

I know how to launch a car. I also know there is no way you can get everything a "900 rwhp" has out of the car or street tires. It is simply impossible. You will have to give up alot of time slipping the clutch and everything else. I want to be able to leave on a 2 step @ 5000 rpm and hook . Then keep the power down the whole way down the track. I love how everyone assumes that people dont know how to drive on this board. I have been racing stick cars for 10 years and I assure you If I say the car wont hook on a given setup it wont. On my 98 formula with 695 rwhp it was a struggle to get it to hook on 28 10.5 et drags with full suspension. The stick just shocks the tires, and must regain traction but that usually results in poor 60's. In my experience the best 60's came with a very hard 2 step launch and good track prep. Unfortunatly track prep around here is almost none existant. A drag radail car has almost no chance at a good hard launch . Anything in the single digits is skating down the track with limited traction and loosing about 3 tenths from good tracks that are 3 hours away.
So back to the original question .Does anybody want to do the wheel deal ?
