Default C6 questions

My friend just put a supercharger, longtubes, and full exhaust on his C6. He took it to the track and ran 7.60's@95-96 mph. Is this about right for his mods? He said that it had a 3.15 gear and he was thinking about going to a 3:42 or 3:73 and putting a small stall in it but doesn't want to hurt the drivability. I told him that I would go with a 3:73 and a 25-2800 stall. Do you agree with my reccomendations or would you go with a different setup, if so why? Thanks for any info.

I'd leave the gear alone and do a 3200 stall (actual stall speed behind the blower) for a street car and a 4000 if he's looking to run 10's.

I agree, the gear is not bad and a nice low 3X00 stall would be great. The numbers seem right, but he had to have traction issues?

If he insist on gears, I wouldn't go any higher than 3:42 for driviablity. I know guys running the 3:73, but that is just to much if you ask me.

Actually, he said the car hooked and bogged. He hasn't had it dynotuned yet so I know he's got a little to gain there. So if he goes with a 3200 stall what kind of gains do you think he will see? Thanks.

Did he ran at Ohio Valley I usually run out at Clay City myself its 1/4 mile .

With a low 3XXX stall would work great in there, a 3.73 gear in that car would be bit much IMO. Maybe a 3.42 but with the cost of the rears, unless he does it himself, I realy do not see it really being worth the work. With that 3.15 and a stall he should be right under boost at the line of that stall, he will launch like a feakin ape. But I tell you this, that he has any thought of changing that convertor and the rear definitly do it at once. I hate working the drivtrain in those cars takes forever lol. One thing about these cars though they really start to pull up to and after the 1/8 with centri type blowers. Mine pulled the hardest going into late 2nd and into 3rdgears in the C5.

Let the converter manufacturer know you are looking a converter to put in a blower car. Converter will help more since you would have a looser converter and the car have a better power band. More gear will help you accelerate, but a converter will help more. Remember the LS1/LS2 is a 5500-6500 rpm machine, so you want a converter that will get you to your power band as soon as possible.

I run a 4500-5000 stall now. I run 116mph in the 1/8th.

Since I don't mess with alot of auto's I don't know who to recomend to him, I hear alot of people talk about Fuddle, is that who you would go with? Thanks again for the info.
