Default Got a 2002 Z06!!!!

Picked up a 02 Z06 today, red with 32,000 miles., black interior. I drove up to Milwaukee to get it. It had new GM tires and brakes. Thanks Chris!

I forced myself to leave traction control on since I was tempted to show off.

Thanks to Nine Ball, J-Rod and the guys for their advice...

I'm interested in:

UD Pulley
X Pipe
Trunk Partition
CAI

I've already forgotten what CAI is the most popular, but I think it's the Vararam. I can see getting one of those pretty quick.

While you're doing the pulley you might as well do a cam at the same time, the steering rack needs to be removed.

If you plan on racing it with sticky tires get a DTE brace and hardend drivers side output shaft.

With any CAI you have to tune the car, the Vararam is a pain in the *** to install, I had one and wasn't too impressed. Now I have a Halltech Stinger and love it.

How about the trunk partitions? Car is kinda loud inside.

I'll do whatever CAI J-Rod and those other track experts like.

I got my partition from www.southerncarparts.com

I also have their storage tray, the compartments are big enough to hold my DE.50

The partition blocks out alot of the noise

I saw you posted in their big thread on CF. Does it match the carpet really well? I'm leaning towards that one.

John, give me a call and I'll give you a deal on the Raptor XXL Cold Air Intake...you'll be impressed and end up spending 1/4 the time installing it, 1/2 the money and make all the power...if not more.

Congrats John, you will love that car, I love mine. Richie has given you great advice here. If you launch this car like and f-body, you'll be going home on a trailer. I have a hardened drivers side shaft now, and will probably go with a complete DTE rear and brace in the future. The previous owner had put 3.90''s in, and I'll probably be going back to the stock 3.42's. With the MN12 tranny, launching on street tires with that gear is tough, but they do work nice from a roll.

No doubt you will enjoy the new ride!!

I installed a partition from CorvettePartz It did get rid of a lot of road noise but hardly phased the exhaust (that may have to do with having LG longtubes, catless X, and B&B PRT ).

The best cheap mod you can do is install some Infinity Kappa 32.7F 3.5" 2 ways in your doors..... you will be amazed!

As mentioned above, if you want to change the pulley do a cam swap at the same time. Getting the steering rack out of the way can be a pain and not an experience you want to do often if you dont have to. I'm in the process of installing the G5X3 right now and should have it finished/dyno tuned in the next couple of days.

What's up with the trunk partition, is the car really that loud inside with aftermarket exhaust. I drove one what was stock. It was nice, but not loud. I like a nice loud meaty exhaust... but that's just me.

I don't have aftermarket exhaust, but I did drive an 03 Z06 with a Corsa, and it was hard to carry on a conversation inside the car.

Sam is that how big an Xpipe is for a stock manifold car? Dang.
