I thought the same thing... If I can spend $30k on a vette... I can spend $300 on a high quality intake... I just wish I had bought one with a little more quality than the vararam...

I sold my Vararam to go with a zip tie mod and K&N filter. The car performed like a champ at the track and I picked up an additional few hp on the dyno (which could be linked to many variables). Point is that it didn't lose any hp on the dyno and my track times didn't drop even a tenth.

Vararam. No dyno, no track times.

Default zip tie mod

Nothing ghetto about it. Simply remove the stock airbox cover and zip tie the stock element in place.I did it, coupled with 3 1-1/4" holes in the plastic next to the fog lights and I can really say it woke the car up.I added the front hood seal just to be safe. The zip tie mod doesn't really show unless you are looking for it. Chuck.

We have done the Dyno testing on our 2002 Z06 and picked up 23rwhp with the Raptor XXL in place of the factory airbox with paper element. On the track the gain was .38 and 2.8 mph. On a stock 2000 FRC we gained 16hp without a tune and the car has yet to hit the track but we will keep you posted

TURBO-ZONE IS RUNNING A SPECIAL ON THE RAPTOR XXL AND ALSO THE RAPTOR XXLE WHICH IS THE UNIT FOR THE 97-00 VEHICLES THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO ADD THE XXL FILTER WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR MAF. CALL BEFORE THEY ARE GONE !!!!!

The SLP SSRA intake on the F-Body measured up to 10 degrees lower. Sorry though I can't remember the thread that had the link.

But it really does work on the F-Body, I haven't looked under the hood of my Corvette that much to see why it would make such a difference. I assume though the F-Body's intake is farther from ambient air due to the plastic plate in front of the radiator.

Here is my induction. As for my gains, about 268 additional RWHP... How do you like that?

ProStockJohn,

You are talking a CAI for your 2002 Z06. If that's correct, there is no CAI faster on that LS6 than a Halltech Tric with the PowerStack filter.

With that CAI and DRs my otherwise stock 02 Z06 ran 11.52 @ 120+ (see sig). It also had about 15 other passes over 120 and trapped 117-118 at DAs of 2000'-3000'. Now, you gotta drive it to do that. But I normally beat well-driven Z06s with other CAI by 1-2 mph in trap, same day, same track.

I'd be very suspicious to claims of rwhp and ET gains. This because of the normal dyno differences plus the variations in water temps. Plus many owners who install CAI have yet to dial-in their driving and improvements there get lumped into the CAI.
