1)vararam
2)N/A(didn't dyno it by itself)(don't expect big dyno numbers from vararam)
3)12.58 @ 113.50 with vararam....(my firends same exact car, with VORTEX rammer and corsa catback went 12.7 @ 111mph on the same night.) Less modded vararam car was quicker.

'02 Z06 Stock with 14,000 miles: 346hp 337tq

With Vararam & East side tune: 365hp & 349tq

With QTP Headers and Hiflow x-pipe & Cats: 378hp & 370tq

So....
1:Vararam & tune
2:19hp & 12lb-ft
3: Never made a baseline pass

If I were to do it over I wouldn't go with a vararam, I might even change over to something else. Not real happy with the quality & I don't think I gained anymore then other setups.

Induction: VaraRam (stock black filter thing)
Dyno'ed: Baseline bone stock car: 311/326, w/ VRam: 323/330. No fans on the car for either run, no tune, and 2 days between stock dyno and V-ram dyno.

Lotta peepz are saying the Vararam works, but the quality is so-so.

Only thing I wouldn't use of theres is the RACE foam filter. I say that only cause I have it, and the K&N filter..... at the track, the elapsed time, and MPH where exact. No need to run the foam filter...when the K&N blocks more debree...yet flows the same.

I went with a vararam. Kooks 1 7/8s + the intake and NO tune got me 376 on the dyno.

PSJ, alot of people swear by the callaway honker. fwiw i have the raptor XXL and love it. easy insallation and gets plenty of cool air from the front screens. i had the halltech trap before. i liked it but it was a pain in the *** to get to and got dirty realy quick because of its location. MTI also has a pretty sweet intake. i think J-rod is playing with that one right now. good luck.

The gains you see on the dyno will be the same gains you get at the track. You are not going to see any "ram air effect" from ANY intake unless you are running over 200mph in the 1320, even then it isnt much.

Wrong. Depending on the ambient air temperature you could potentially see MUCH higher gains than what the dyno showed. Ram air, schmam air, it's entirely based on the ambient air temperature, get the coldest you can get = more power.

You have proof to back up that statement....Thought not. When you are up to speed the temps at the stock location are THE SAME as those on the outside of the car. You will see just as much a reduction in times from the zip tie mod as any other aftermarket intake.....

Wait, proof that ambient air is better than engine bay air? So colder air doesn't make more power? Or the fact that you could potentially show more gains at the track than on the dyno? The dyno is a tuning tool, leave the numbers to the Supra's.

My question would be do YOU have proof that a zip tie mod makes more if not the same power as any other aftermarket intake, and if so then why do shops bother switching intakes?

Next question, who cares?

You are not listening. Comprehend....at speed the temp coming from the front of the car or in the stock airbox locale is THE SAME. A few members on the vette forumn actually MEASURED the temps with thermocouples while driving....

Dont feel bad I bought an intake as well, it does look less ghetto than the zip-tie IMHO.

I've seen the ziptie mod, I'd prefer something that looks nicer.
