Question blown Z06 question

well im lookin at a 2002 Z06 with an A&A ATI kit.....
it was de-tuned by A&A from 560rwhp to 535rwhp on 6psi. (pisc)

but the car has 6000 miles with the blower on it. and im wondering if that is a little high? i drove the car... everything is fine, and it has a very safe tune, and the car is VERY well taken care of., (babied)...... so how many more miles do you think i could get out of the stock shortblock before somthing breaks?

how many miles do you guys have on your blown stock shortblocks?

i am going into this deal with plans of doing at least a forged 346.

but i would like to know how much wear is on the motor and head unit
with 6K miles....

any info would be great...... thanks guys!

Well, while im no expert on this matter, i would assume its all in the tune. A car can be supercharged on a very safe tune for a VERY long time beacuse the tune wont let the S/C be as aggressive enough to kill the engine if its that good of a tune really. however you have to realize that numbers like that on a stock blocked z06 isnt meant to last long to begin with and THATS what will really be the killer when (not if) something goes wrong.

My advice to you is that, if you really want this car, get it and be prepared for something to break and forge your engine. If you had plans to blow a z06, id personalyl take this...the chargers on there and all you gotta do is the engine work. Kind a blessing in disguise really.

I agree, sounds like the car is probably in good shape anyway. There are many cars out there that have blowers with many more miles than this one and still run great. I wish I had the opportunity to buy something like this when I was buying mine, but I didn't find such a deal.

You'll probably have problems if it's still on the stock clutch...be ready to upgrade.

Way too much power for a stocker. You will be replacing it with something aftermarket.

If you plan on a forged motor, then go ahead. I don't know if I would buy someone's car with a blower. The LSx is a good motor, but be prepared to replace the shortblock with something better.

I was referring to a stock clutch.

That sounds like a plan with a forged bottom... In that case. Do it up.
