low 11 C5
What does it take to get a C5 consistently into the low 11's? I assume H/C, but is a blower or turbo cheaper/easier to get there? Also which tranny is better, I know the Fbody guys like the A4 instead of the M6, does the same go for the vette?

heads/cam with a good tire.
bolt-ons with some spray, also with a sticky tire.
turbo i dont see why not, blower, not sure............
Tranny you dont really have to worry about the rear braking in the vette, reguardless it being a M6 or A4, you get a brace for it and be fine.
In the F-body its the t-56 that breaks the rear(10bolt) the A4 doesnt brake it as easily as the M6. in an Auto F-body you can put ET streets on there and be fine.
In my experiences, thats just what I have seen though, but if your wanting a vette to run 11's consistently, and worried about breaking something be worried about a clutch or something of that nature.
Hope I could help you out.

I ran consistent 11s with a cam only, headers and a tune. I used et streets with a spec stage 3 clutch and a line lock. The line lock gave me consistent 60 foots with the et streets. I would run 11.71 to 11.74 all night long.

It is not required.... but reccomended, expect to pay about 3k out the door for 460 rwhp for a ll of the parts and everything associated with a hc and bolt on set up... I suggest that you go that route and do the install yourself.... thats like another 2k

My second cam only set up was a Cartek 3x cam(less forgiving but pulls harder up top).
My car has dipped into the 10's about 10 times with both of these setups.
