Default hit a hole, will it total my car?

I was pulling into a parking lot, and i had a huge hole at the enterance that wasnt visible.

it broke my radiator.
tore my front bumper
the front suspension is laying on the ground torn off the car.
damage and tore alot of wires leading to the headlights and other electrical parts.
alot of the plastic intake and misc pieces under the car.

from this discription, do you think it could have frame
damage?
will this total it?
i am claiming it on the gas station insurance company.
could i ask for depreciation?
any advice will help.
2001 z06 44k miles.

thanks
Vince

ohh faaak, that sucks....... broken radiator and suspension laying on the ground I think would 99.9999% be a totaled car... take them to the cleaners like they take the rest of us to the cleaners every day w/gas prices, get a good lawyer

the only body damage was the front bumper.
all of the rest was under the car.
wonder if they will have to pull the drivetrain?

Did it move the suspension points at all? or did it just bend the control arms?

if its just the control arms its not too bad

A friend of mine had someone back onto his hood in a bigass pickup truck. The trailer hitch actually broke his radiator from the top. It's only like $240 from GM Parts Direct. Really, really, really easy to install, also.

The suspension pieces are what would worry me. No matter what, it will be an extensive repair. It's good that the gas station is covering it for you. I probably would have gone ballistic. We'd have to see pics or something to give you a rough estimate from our non-professional opinions, haha.

At least from what it sounds like, you weren't hurt. That's the important thing.

Thumbs up

An 01 Z-06 is in the $25-30K+ range on resale price.. I highly doubt the car would be totalled.
There is a claim, known as "demonition of value", that may apply.
You can demand a one time payment of $XX, to cover your loss, if/when you sell the car, as it's been wrecked.

Call your ins co. and ask the ??'s. That's what you pay them for...

Id say you are looking at about 15,000 worth of damage. That sucks....
