Default C5 motor only out the top???

Hi, I'm looking for info on removing my motor from the top without pulling the entire driveline. Car is a 01 Z06, I have a LS2 stroker ready to install after I transfer items from the LS6. Does anyone have any tips for this? I'm about ready to pull except for bellhousing, motor mount bolts/cradle/ rack. I know about supporting the bellhousing and dropping the arms, just would be nice to hear from someone who has done it. Thanks!!

It would be super easy if you pulled the heads and intake, lowered the steering rack and the pulled the motor. No problem at all, just support the drive line and your there....Good luck and have fun...

I got mine out without much of a problem ,but getting it back in I had to remove the oil pan to get it to site down in there with the input shaft sticking out. I then had to loosen the k member to get the oil pan back in. It was probably the hardest possible way to do it.
