Awesome time! Get those BFGs working and drop that 60' down and you will be in the low 12s.

Where did you run at? You don't have your location listed. Reason I ask is because I was at Cecil county dragway in MD on saturday and was talking with a guy that had an SRT4 running basically that same time, and he told me about a buddy of his that was having trouble getting past 12.40s in his Z06. I had a new personal best on sat. too, time is in the Sig. Good luck bro...get that 60' down and you've got an easy 11 second car on your hands. I plan on cracking 11's bone stock before we do anything to our vette.

Haha, small world eh? Yeah the cars runnin really well, I think there's still room for improvement. I'll be back a couple more times before the season is over. The track must be better prepped on Sat. then because I've NEVER had a problem hooking at Cecil. Any chance of you getting a saturday off and heading up there for Test and Tune? Work keeps me away from the track during the week....not to mention I live in northern, VA right outside DC, which is close to a 2 hour trip to Cecil. If you're interested, the g/f and I will be heading out to Capitol raceway on Sep. 17th for the semi-annual Corvette Club of America drag day. Should be 100+ Corvettes there and pretty good track prep. Here's the PDF flier. http://www.corvetteclubofamerica.org...eFallFlyer.pdf

Also, if you're looking into improving your times, you might check this thread out by Ranger. He is probably one of the best drivers around the LS1/vette boards. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...65&forum_id=49

Send me a PM if you'd like to meet up some time and do some racing. Good luck with the car!

I understand about the car business and Saturdays. ;-) I would say first of all lower your launch RPM. I found the sweet spot for me was right around 2800-2900. You'll come out of the hole quicker, trust me.

**EDIT** Just saw you were running DRs....err.....I dunno what to tell you buddy. If I was on DRs I would be launching at close to 4 grand. The only way I can see you spinning the tires is if you're just dumping it and stabbing the gas pedal immediately. Ranger described it best.....what you don't want to do is STAB the gas, its more of a "squeezing" effect. Let/ride the clutch out smoothly and squeeze the gas pedal steadily toward the floor until you have aquired full throttle. Play around with your launch rpms until you find which speed works best for you. My guess is you should be at or approaching 4k at launch. Hope it helps buddy!

Also....lower your tire pressure. On DRs I would reccomend starting out at around 16psi and lowering from there to find the correct launch pressure.

Brian,

Was directed at the original poster, though your times are similar given the mods/same track. So, either one of you may answer .

Raceweight?

Again, really moving .

Ryan, for some reason the DA wasn't printed on the timeslips. I'm not sure what the race weight is but take the weight of a stock Z06....we'll just say 3100 pounds (not sure off the top of my head what the exact spec is) add me at 185 pounds...and the 25-30 pounds of CRAP that I had in the trunk and forgot to clear out. Oh and I accidentally filled the gas tank up completely the night before, so I had 3/4 of a tank of gas as well.

thats my issue. I just drop it and punch it. Kinda affraid to ride the clutch lol its a expensive fix. Ill try it again and slowly let it go next time.

Glad you mentioned the DA: The DA is never printed on the timeslips here at Houston Raceway. What an incredibly useful piece of info to have comparing old timeslips!

Regardless of what the "norm" on the 'net it, 116mph in a stock Z06 is pretty stout. Just my opinion. Good luck hitting 11s

Yeah bro, you need to slip the clutch a little bit, don't just dump it. If your drag radials are bouncing then they may not be hot enough. Do a strong burnout at around 16psi and get right up to the line. I would come out harder and slip the clutch. You should be 1.7x and better and that will give you an 11 sec timeslip. Keep at it!
