^^^ If that z06 is your daily driver be very leery of adding a cam. Not to offend anyone here but the MPG will go down, the idle will be a bit rougher, and if the tune isn't spit on then you might have cam surge at awkward speeds/load points. Not to say that any of those things will bother you but really make sure it's what you want to do, it's a big commitment to do a cam in terms of labor/money/drivability.

I agree. And for only 30-40hp, i dunno if its worth it. But the sound is. I dont see a problem in adding a cam, most of the tuners, reputable ones in the Dallas area are good at what they do. I mainly stay in the DFW area, but I will take the car on road trips or up to missouri to see my father. I'm not 100% on a cam.

However, a little birdie told me of a prototype cam only LS6 that should be making 450rwhp. THAT would be worth it.

If your worried about mileage, it's simple,....do what you think is best. Nobody can decide that but you.

"Is that 30 to 40 extra rwhp worth it?"

Are you kidding? Does Howdy Doodie have wooden *****?

There are some very street friendly cams that you can drop in for a 30hp gain and can be tuned well. I wish I knew you wanted to do a cam...I just gave up my Comp 918 springs as trades (for almost nothing)...would rather have given them to you!

Thanks bro. I went with the Comp 921 doubles. I was going to put in a big nasty cam, but after seeing tq curves vs hp gains, etc., I stayed with my smaller cam, but went ahead and got the springs!

See you around.

I would disagree with some of this statement. I actually had the same MPG before and after the cam in my car. When I added heads (dart 205s) I actually increase my MPG. I actually daily drive my car and the surging is not really bad. I can lug the car down to 900 rpms in all the gears and it responds well.

Yea, i have a feeling i'm going to go with the biggest cam that will fit an LS6 with out flycutting.
