Is the code/light staying on? Ususally if you turn your car off then start it the code will go away. Pretty common with vettes. You could've hit a bump in the road will braking/accelerating and the sensor picked up on it. I wouldn't worry too much.

search "EBCM" on CF. It's a sensor.. well more like a computer, my 2002 does it. TONS of C5's have the same problem yet GM won't recall it.

It's about a $600 computer.

If you pull the codes and get C1214 get ready for a *** rapeing. 90% of the time the ebcm is dead.

I haven't got a 1214 but mine gets "service active handling" or "service vehicle soon" or I'll feel my front brakes slow the car down (it will dip) when my feet aren't on the pedals, and i'll look at the DIC and it will say "Active Handling"

turn the key to the on position but dont start it.
push the "Reset" button to clear any codes that may pop up on the DIC.

Then while pushing "option" push "fuel" 4 times.

It will go into the diagnosis mode.

I get confused on what the other buttons do while in that mode, but if you push E/M it will exit, and obviously, the reset button will clear any codes you may have.

Others here may have more knowledge to this subject.

Then it's not the EBCM. I hate to replace mine a few months ago.

Here is a link to every corvette DIC code and what it means.

well i just pulled a C1214, that was my first code! the car only has just a few codes, and they are all H (in the past) What exactly does this mean now? It cant mean the computer is fried or whatever. lots of people get these codes and they clean up the corrosion built up in the connector. The car is flawless and doing great. Id hate to have to replace something like that after owning it for 3 months from a stupid problem. please send over some more info! lol

I did all the grounds on mine and it never went away. I had to replace the EBCM on my vette after having it a total of 4-5months. I got very lucky and got a used one off a wrecked repo that was going to auction. Got it for $200.

yea that sounds good. I will be doin the same thing. Im gonna install a intake setup my self and then have it tuned and see what they can come up with. thanks alot for the help JARGAN04. If i have to change the computer out, thats what I got to do. This wont cause any future problems will it? I kinda want some more info to stay on top of this. my service abs light and traction control only come on once in a great while. it only came on twice when i rev'd it real high.

I have the same problem on my 01. It will go off for a few days then come back. Also, it will tell me that my LR tire is low, when I check it the pressure is where it us supposed to be. Should I reset the system?
