a three pound ball peen hammer and something to pry with.

never done that, but I would guess you'd start by removing the refrigerant. I'm pretty sure it has to come out by way of the engine compartment/wheel well avenue, but I'll yield to the pro's on this one.
what's up with opening the evap? you sure you have to go that route?
