Default ZO6 headers & X-pipe question

I'm looking for a bolt on header and X system that will accept the stock ZO6 exhaust. Give me some suggestions and WHY??

same boat as you are man. Larry at ls1speed, said LG with the Xpipe and stock TI's sound bad ***! amazing. They work real well and make some real nice power. Im probably gonna do that or put a different catback. I really want to switch out the cat back to make it all new you know. Iv also seen people dyno with that setup with the stock TI, then another person dyno with just a aftermarket catback and actually got MORE of a gain than the other dude with headers and X pipe and stock TI. I was shocked. idk whats that all about.. lol. so I will def change out the catback!

LG's (most proven) or American Racing (easiest install)

The cars must have been different years or with different bolt-on's. Or the cat back guy could have been tuned while the LT guy wasn't...any number of things. But the fact is The stock Ti's are known to flow just as well as most aftermarket cat-backs.

As far as the original question. You can't go wrong with any of these:

American racing headers
LG Pro's
Dynatech Supermaxx.

All 3 of these are full LT + X-pipe bolt-on systems (Dynatech probably being the most complete with every single neccesary part) And all 3 are highly reviewed by their owners. All 3 have also shown great numbers. LG Pro's and ARH will usually put out a few more ponies with big cams or other major mods b/c their collectors perform a bit better.

But I say whichever you can get for the best price.

I loved the LG Pros and the stock ti... It was just a little to quiet for me. I went with the B&B PRT exhaust just for the look and sound, there is not really any performance gains. The B&B is a little louder than stock at idle, but really comes alive at wot. Best of all, there is no drone at cruising rpms.

American racing Headers are supposed to be top notch - Heard nothing but great things so far. They are supposed to fit like a glove and putting out great numbers about the same as LG Pro's. Vette Docs doing a special now $1999 for them installed + dyno tune. Normally the headers are like $1450-$1500 + an install probably $400 or so and tune $300, so you save a couple hundred.

My car has QTP headers and x pipe with stock TI's. I only picked up 4 rwhp with the cutouts open. The TI and lt's sound awsome and flow very well.

You are saying your LT's and X-pipe only gave you 4rwhp gain with the cutout open, compared to stock manifold and Mid-pipe with cutout open??

Also, no offense but your numbers seem pretty low for your mods: LT's, Vram, off-road X-pipe, ported TB, pulley and that big of a cam on an 04Z. I would think you'd be like 450rwhp.

Just for the record those headers MissmyGN is selling are swaintech coated which is nice b/c that coating is supposed to be real high quality & much better than Jet-hot.

Nothing wrong with buying used, I did. I'm kinda lucky, I found a Used Dynatech Supermaxx system, complete & in perfect condition for $850 shipped. They sell for $1450-$1500 new.

His numbers seem to be right on for those mods.. My cam is a little larger than that, and my numbers are in sig. With a fast 90/90 combo and cooler weather I would probably only be 445.

No I ment cutouts open vs closed I only picked up 4rwhp. I think my #'s are about normal for my mods. My cam isnt that big. I dont think ive seen a cam only bolt on car put down 450rwhp.
