I wish shops like HPE were up here. With some of them if my car blew on the dyno and it was after work they done they would call me up and say come pick up your car and the chunks of internals laying around......
HPE does a lot of stuff that people either don't try or they did it first. I.E. this Z06, Wormy, Big Ricks car ect ect.
Stuff happens and it shows what kind of shop they are when they picked up the tab.... After that I am sure the owner or that Z will be a repeat customer and recomend them.

Chuck, when I get another vette, you can bet, that with customer service like that, I'll look no further; you'll have my business. Too many other shops would have "stuck it to the customer." What a trooper. One thing for sure, we all know that anything can happen when making big numbers, you were just unfortunate (as was the owner) but you did what we (as customers) would want...take responsibility... I'll be seeing you soon!

You know, Chuck is really doing something that NO OTHER SHOP around is doing. Standing behind there work. I have delt with many performance shops from California to New York and back and I have heard of problems with them all blowing up cars, for what ever reason, and leaving it up to the customer to pay to fix it. Now, if the problem is the customer, or some work the customer did, then yes it should be left up to them. But for a shop to take it upon themselves to correct their mistakes or fix something because their dyno says a lot. Chuck, you don't care for me for what ever reason, but I have to give it to you, this says a lot about you and your shop.

That was just weird. It sounded like a 2 stage system. Maybe the first noise was the exhaust butterflies opening at 3 grand but he just stayed on it for days and days. I bet hit hit the limiter and just kept spraying. It only takes a millisecond in some instances to cause a failure. NOS is safe if you know what you are doing.

Yup, got the math down pat, along with a few other things. I didn't wat to speculate too much on ones misfortune but knew it had to be excessive to grenade like that. Chuck, thanks for pushing the envelope to see what these cars can withstand and for standing behind what you do. What the status of this car now?

Thats pretty good customer service because most shops would have probably said that with nitrous there is always a risk and its not the their fault and you would be stuck with a broke z06. I would cry.

Results are in on the successful completion of the project. HPE stands behind their work.

Gotta hand it to a shop that will bit the bullet sometimes when **** happens. Thats the way a business should be run, its a shame that there arn't that many shops that will do that now a days.

I love HPE. Before they were around, I had a cam installed & dyno tune at MTI. I was totally unimpressed with how they treated me and the results they got on my dyno tune, plus it doesn't drive great. They treated me just as bad when i needed a retune. I went to HPE when my buddy recommened them to me, just to have a tp4400 installed, and they gave me a shop tour, showed me some of their fastest cars, bs'd with me, & recommended they take the converter for me to a nearby shop to have it cleaned out and resurfaced since i bought it used. They are top notch & def have a customer for life. Once I can afford another dynotune, I will be at their door!
