01 was the first year for the C5 Z06. The 385 hp comes from GM using the LS1 Hot Cam for a camshaft lift on it is only .525 on both in/ex. In 02 GM used a newly designed cam, the lift on it is .551 in/ex.
So if you have an 01 Z06 cam it is basically a LS1 Hot Cam. I infact think it is the same GM part number.
