Default TSP Headers

Has any heard anything about headers by TSP? I'm looking for a set for my C5, any suggestions?

I got a set a few weeks back and just had them installed...the guys in the shop said they were a pain to install. Here's a link to the thread on the corvetteforum:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1481015

The car sounds bad *** with these, no cats and Corsa Pace exhaust...too bad my car is still there being worked on

The engine bay is def cooler with these on and the sound is awesome. Power on the initial tune was a bit lower than the shop was expecting with the cam (224/224) and the headers but seeing as I'm having problems with the car now after the install it may have been something else...

That's where I'm at right now

Tripintaz - Did they give you much of an increase in low to mid-range power? I have been thinking about buying a set of these for awhile now but haven't pulled the trigger just yet.

then you dont know what your missing.

Headers really wake up LSx motors.

pull the trigger already, u wont be dissapointed. TSP showed low and mid torqe increase of about 30 ft lbs at the wheels on a bone stock 99 c5 with stock tune

Im sure my Z06 with an intake and tune picked up more.

Take the valve covers off and they slide right in

Not a pain at all. The tabs on the bottom of the headers won't line up.

See my post above...the thread on corvetteforum has them as well and yes they are ceramic coated.

As far as the fitment issues - the shop my have just been blowing smoke my way (not sure though) anyone who installed them themselves would be able to tell you better.

My car is still at the shop (been there for a month for a cam as well as to install these) don't have the numbers yet cause the car still isn't done

all i had to do was losen/drop the starter, pull teh valve covers off, and disconnect the steering linkage and the headers dropped right in from the top. Id say the install was easy. Except for the O2 sensor on the passenger side. I had to use the dremel to cut a small hole for clearance. I did the install myself in aobut 8 hours over 2 days. You dont need those little tabs, I had an xpipe welded in and everything is sturdy.

I wouldn't use anything but LG Motorsports LongTubes on a Vette if I was buying new headers. There's a reason why they are the longest and make 10+ rwtq more than any other LT header.

The LG's have these headers beat by one full inch of primary length and cost twice the amount

tell me about it...car was supposed to be done today (supposedly parts were shipped to a different shop) car will be done tomorrow…We’ll see I’ve been hearing this for the last two weeks – Granted this will be the second time I’m picking the car up, wasn’t done right the first time and it ran like crap

I prefer Melrose headers. Fit and finish are the best I've seen period.
They are also ceramic coated inside and out. A plus is that both sides can be installed from the top and they have excellent clearance around the headers as well as ground clearance. I've made over 600rwhp with the 1 3/4 Melrose set I have on my car now. Wouldnt use anything else.

Surely you're not becoming a dyno racer .

I personally saw 1 3/4 Kooks gain over 4 tenths and 3.5 mph at the track (on a stock C5). Same DA, same raceweight, same driver, etc. Everyone praises the LGs (which are a great header), but there are other headers out there. Length plus a merged collector doesn't mean they go the fastest . The American Racing headers are gaining all kinds of praises lately. Worth checking out as well. Again, I'm not saying the LGs are bad. Not at all. I'm just saying there are other headers out there that perform as well or better on the track. I will say one thing, LG has the best marketing team - I don't say that maliciously. Not at all.

Why is everyone so bent on having the longest primaries? Its too bad there aren't more before/after track times for headers.

Race your dynos. See ya at the track . Pick the headers you really want and don't regret your decision.

Ryan

I think they are they are by far the best header for the money for a Corvette. Granted they aren't stainless but they are coated.
