Default Procharged C6 First Time Track Results

Well I took my vette to the track last night. Mods are Procharger, B&B headers, B&B Bullet exhaust, B&B x-pipe, and a dyno tune (500whp/450wtq). Temperature was 83 degrees, coolant temp on the best run was 200 degrees, and oil temp was 220 degrees.

Reaction: .7091
60ft: 2.236
330ft: 6.074
1/8 ET: 8.903
1/8 mph: 89.32
1000 ET: 11.234
1000 mph: 105.09
1/4 ET: 13.179
1/4 mph: 117.10

I only made 3 runs and I'm sure with another one I would have gotten my trap to at least 120. The car had absolutely no traction in 1st or 2nd no matter how slow I tried to roll into the throttle. There was a C6 Z06 running also and his best was a 12.50 @ 118. I'm pretty happy with the results considering the slow track, lack of traction, and that this was my first trip to the track with the vette and only the 2nd time I've ever run at a track.

Not bad for your 2nd time at the track. Just becareful with wheel hop so you dont bust half shafts.

That must have been one horribly prepped track! Is yours auto/stick, did you run in Comp. mode or TC off?

I'm trying to get mine out to a track soon too. Just don't have the time.

Don't take this wrong but My brothers Bolt 06 LS2 Vette busted off a 115-116MPH bogging out of the hole with a 2.1 60 foot shifting easy.

I don't know the specs on your car but a Ls2 with a Procharger should be trapping 125+. Your probably on 4-6lbs and you do need practice like stated above, but you'll get it GOOD LUCK.

It's a M6 Z51, I ran it in Competition Mode and had no hop at all. The track is notorious for being poorly prepped. My buddy has a TA that runs high 10's everywhere else and the best he can run here is mid 11's. The fact that my tires are runflats made traction a lot worse.

I could tell that by the times you quoted for the new Z. I just changed out my runflats (well, I kept them for long trips on the stock wheels) because I was just blowing them off on the street. I'm right at your #s (I'm auto) on motor only. Good set of tires will help, but sounds like that track is good practice for street racing!

Enjoy, and be careful on that slick track!

Well I just remembered what another problem is...I left traction control on for the last two runs.

That will definitely kick your ***! First time out is still good, though. Couple more trips and you'll get her dialed in.

I haven't run a car on street tires down the track in a long time, so I'm sure my first trip with the Vette is going to be a hell of a learning curve too.

I replied on another FORUM, but..

The runflats definitely make it tough to get 500rwhp down the track.

A procharged C6 with 500rwhp should be trapping at least 120-123mph even spinning the tires...480rwhp in my supercharged C5 on stock runflats would get me a 11.9@123mph with a 2.3 60ft. Buy some tuning software so you can data log your runs to make sure your not getting any knock/detonation at the track or on the street...

Practice makes perfect. I'm just glad that most of the Corvette drivers on this site aren't afraid to go race their cars. Much more enjoyable than the 'waxing & buffing' side of things.

You must have run at WIR huh. Horrible prep. Riiiiiight, you have to prep a track to be horrible those guys flat out suck at it. That place sucks, great bunch of guys, but everytime I try to stage a manual in the right hand lane my car would roll and red light me about 80% of the time. Gotta love WIR. Did they ever pave that road to the track or is it still a dirt road? lol

Oh yea you need traction, i had the same issue with my C5 with teh P1SC at 501 RWHP. Watch out for the dreaded wheel hop. I lost my rearend and output shaft at the track due to wheel hop. You know the sad part. I got the best 60ft time on that jump with it snappingin half lol. I though it was my clutch.

Yeah, it was WIR. Do you know PlumCrazyRob? He told me that a buddy of his had a Procharged C5 that trapped around 120 but broke his rearend when he got it to launch good.

lol yea I know Rob. When I lived in Wichita I use to race with him all the time, and several others. We used the road by his house as a test track.

I was trapping at 119-120 and hitting around 12.10 - 12.30 with a 2.1 - 2.3 60ft. I never got a good run of that car before that tranny and rear went. When it went it had 3.73 gears too. God it made a mess. I have not talked with him lately, I am in Iraq again paying off the new toys lol. I need to email him one of these days.

I though you must be the guy he was talking about. They did finally pave the road going out the track but the return road from the end of the track is still full of potholes. Send me an im if you want his work e-mail.

I felt bad that I ran a best of 13.3 @108mph on my 1997 LS1 with just LG Street's and borla stingers....

WOW, you have serious traction/clutch issues...I'm with everyone else, you should be in the 12's with 120+ trap speed!

Tires will help out immensely.

Change the rear meats to drag radials and you'll be solidly in the 11s.

i think i still got it. Thanks though.

Yea if you run a differnet tire I HIGHLY suggest a strut brace for that rear. Wheel hop is a bad thing I wish I had my pics from it. But they are on the computer at the house in KY

Definetly some DR's. But seems like you'll always have to fight the track prep demons if its that bad. My best 60 ft. was a 1.85 on nitto's. on the motor my car traps between 119 and 121. Get some dr's and you'll be happy
