Default Cleaning Z06 exhaust tips

I have a 98 C5 that has a Z06 catback. Problem is the tips always looked dull and after I had head problems and pushing coolant out the exhaust they really look like ****. Whats the best way to polish them?
I never paid much attention but what kind of a finish do they have from the factory? I dont think it was chrome but werent they polished?

I really like the catback its awesome how quiet it is untill you really get into. Noone would have thought it made 500rwhp listening to it idling or putting around town. Is it possible to get new tips and have them welded on or is the titanium make it difficult? If so what tips should I get?

Take some simple green. Spary it on the tips and let it sit for a few minutes. Then take a rag and wipe the stuff off. You may have to do this a couple of time depending on how dirty the tips are. After that I would use some mothers metal polish. Put some of the polish on a rag and buff it onto the tips...then wipe it off. This you may also need to do mulitple times to get a good shine. Hope this helps. It has always worked for me. If you want to get real particular you can do the insides of the tips as well. Good luck.

Edit: Also, make sure you do not get any simple green on your paint.

I use "NevrDull". Eagle One labels it so that you can find it at Autozone and other car parts places. It's wadding with polish soaked into it. You wipe it on and buff it off. It looks good and is about as easy as it gets.

I agree, this works very well. I use it on my SLP LMs and used it on the ZO6 tips I had before that. Works well.

Thanks guys. I forgot I had both neverdull and mothers polish. I used the neverdull and worked great.
