clutch issue
clutch issue Okay, this might be in the wrong forum, but my buddy just bought a used 03 Z05 with 18k miles and the clutch pedal sticks to the floor.
I have a 6 speed camaro and it used to do this and I bought an aftermarket clutch and master. Will my friend have to do this as well?
Can any of you Z06 guys shed a little light on the subject?

There are 2 simple cures for this and one that is not so simple, mentioned above......new clutch, slave, flywheel!! Change to dot 4 clutch/brake fluid and keep it fresh. Change it out of the reservior everytime you add gas. Also, there is a clutch stop you can buy for around $100 that keeps your clutch pedal from hitting the floor which allows quicker shifts and greatly reduces the sticking clutch pedal syndrom. Do a search on the corvetteforum. There is a guy that just did a write up about it. Very impressive!!!

Yeah, the stock GM clutch blows.... GO with an aftermarket clutch and the sticky pedal problem will be solved... Everyone I know has had this problem. Replaced the clutch and it goes away...

yea Ranger def knows his stuff. Great guy. iv read alot about peoples cluth stickin to the floor. worries me, lol. should I wait till it actually starts sticking to replace it, cause a few mods are going in before i put a clutch in, so i hope it last's.
