just weighed the Z06...

well i stopped at mayflower on thursday to see what my baseline weight was before i start doing any weight reduction... and to my suprise.........

3040 pounds!!!!

i was expecting around 3125...... DAMN.....

that means after headers, and a lightweight battery.... ill be looking at like
2990!!!

just thought id share that with you guys!

I don't know how much my car actually weighs, but my headers and catback are 45lbs lighter than the stock stuff.

My mostly stock 2001 Z06 weighs in at 3170 with 1/2 tank of fuel, laptop, 1qt of oil, flat tire kit, and a wideband 02 sensor installed. 3040lbs is very light!

3125 would be the weight with a full tank of gas, I'm assuming you weighed it with an almost empty tank? Gas weighs about 6.2 to 6.5 lbs per gallon.

I weighed my C5 at the track last weekend with 3/8ths a tank and was at 3408 #'s . I weigh about 205 #'s and the Magnacharger is around 75#'s I think. Only other mod it has is the Z06 titanium cat back which saved about 16 #'s over the C5. Kooks LT's and non-catted X pipe will save me some #'s soon enough.

That and swapping out the run flats for DR's will help too.

Last time I was at the track my 00 frc weighed in at 3,000 even with just under half tank. The only thing that I can think of that would make my car lighter would be the longtubes and oem zo6 wheels.

At the same track my friends 99 frc with heavy motorsport wheels and a stock Ti(zo6) catback weighed in at 3075. Not sure how much gas he had in it though.
