Default First time at the Track with the C5!! :)

I have a 97 C5 M6. I got it to the track on Sunday. The only things I have done are. Ziptie mod, TB bypass, and Muffler Bypass. It was 54 degrees and sunny. The track was hooking while the sun was out. I made 5 runs. Ohh street tires too (good year egale F1s)

My 2 runs that were hot were at 215-220 degrees. The cold ones were 180-190.

1 run. Hot car w/ no tire warm up. 13.5
2 run. Hot car W tire warm up. 13.0
3 run. cold car W tire warm up. 12.9

Then from there is stated getting cold and i couldnt hook at all.

4 run. cold car W tire warm up. Missed 2nd. 13.4
5 run. cold car W tire warm up. Got side ways through 2 and 3. had to let off. 14.8 lol

So I figure not bad for haveing the vette to the track for the first time. I just cant wait till its spring so I can go get some better times. Now just time for some Bolt-ons. lol

Man that is pretty good. I took mine to the track a week or two ago for the first time. I had a blast, but the clutch really hated it. I won't hold at all. Time for a new one!! Good numbers though

Thanks guys. I need to work on my 60fts though. I could get any better than 2.088 If I can get down to a 1.8 to 1.9 I will be very happy. Now its time to get some slicks and some bolt ons. Might have to give Z06Daddy a call. lol

Excellent times. 12.9 is great for your mods and experience with the car.

Sweet runs man, but your gonna need quite a bit more than just practice to hit that 1.6-1.8 60ft goal you have. Have fun with it!

Your driveline will be on the starting line before you see a 1.60 60'.

I agree, my car ran its best time of 12.7@ 112mph 2.0 60' with just twin flow polished intake, and borla XR1 race system. However my torque tube coupler did not withstand to my driving habbits more than 2 years.

Nice 12.x for a '97. I had a '97 and finally put the giggle gas on it to get some real movement.

^^ I have been thinking about N20 for a while now. My buddy is selling hie NX kit for cheap for the Ls1. I am just afarid of blowing stuff up. What would be a safe shot for a prettey much stock 97 C5. I have 67K on the car aswell. Its a wet kit too.
