BBC in a C6

And who needs a C6? Ill take that friggin guys NOVA!!!!! Good god thats a badass car....
.
So we all learned a lesson. Don't try and put engines in a car that they don't fit and don't work for what the car was intended. Especially when the car has a IRS that isn't design to handle 1,500+ hp while on slicks.
We hopefully also learned that when you replace every single part of a engine with a different part it is no longer that engine.
A 7.0 C5R, with a forged lunati crankshaft, 225 AFR heads, forged aluminum pistons, a camshaft that makes the engine idle at 2500 rpms, and running on alcohol is not a LS1.
Nor is a SBC without a single part on it was made with anything other than drag racing 100% of the time still an old school SBC.
Those two above examples are racing engines and neither truelly represents their original architecural design.
Lets not compare a hardened SBC crankshaft a with stock crankshaft LSX engine design originally for driving to work (C5R block or not a LSX stock crankshaft is the key part) and lets not try and compare a stock engine with a stock engine that was designed 20-30 years earlier before emissions laws even came into effect and were designed to run on leaded gas.
Lastly when an engine starts off at 550+ ci it is going to make more power than an engine starting at 345ci-366ci especially when it can even be built past 650ci while the other can't feasily get past 429ci without drastically reducing it's lifespan.
Post lastly we must all remember that a 301ci 1977 Firebird V8, while it sounds good, still makes less hp than a modern stock low-end non-VTEC Honda Civic.
P.S.
Nelson Racing Engines makes a 705 cube BBC TT that makes 3000 crank hp on race gas. IF you really want to get silly, then put that setup in a car with some sort of aerodynamics and great suspension, and not give a **** if it weighs 4500lbs because at 3000 hp, weight aint such a big issue!
SDB
Yeah but turbine have shitting 60 ft times.
I mean a Hennesy Viper has the same quarter mile time as a F-16.
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
"Can" it be done?? YES... You could install a B.B on a Go Cart if you want..
Will the benifits outweigh the unbelieveable expense?? NO.
You are basically reconfiguring the ENTIRE car. From the front suspension to the rear end, you would be required to fabricate/modify everything. Not to mention the computer and wiring. Cause if your gonna go through the expense, you might as well build the car to sustain the power. All of this to say you've bot a "Big Block" in the car??? You would be better off building a one off chassis and mounting the body of a C6 onto it.
Nowadays the LSX motors are able to make 1500+rwhp and run in the 7's all day long. Within the next six months you will be able to obtain a block that will facilitate 1,800+rwhp (Claimed 2000-2500hp). Why on earth would you want to redesign a car for the simple fact of installing a big block??
I have more money invested into my car than ANY person in this thread, and probably 99% of every person on this site, (With the exception of ALL OUT race cars) and even I know when to toss in the towel on a project.
So its simple.
YES it can be done.....
NO, its not anywhere NEAR worth the expense.
