Are you looking to add alot of weight to the car?
Properly set-up LSX stroker can make just as much power I would think, or at least have a much better power/weight ratio.

 

BBC 427.... hell no.

Thats seems to be what alot of people think, its less than 100 pounds.

A BBC would UTTERLY DESTROY any LSx in every way, shape and form, like it was standing still.

Roll race monster is the plan, the WS6 T/A isn't as slippery so I'm trying to decide which to use. Probably a regular C6 with the Z06 hood, fenders, quarters and rear bumper added, like "blk05coupe" did with his.

I'm not building anything, the engines I want are already built and sold as packages. TT BBC or SBC, just don't know if the BBC will fit.

for what. Check out a bb gas milage figure, compare that to the new ZO6 gas milage and then check and see if a bb anything would run with a new ZO6.

 

I doubt a BBC would fit in a C6. I mean an old school SBC is to tall to fit in a F-Body with even a tampon put on for a filter.

Besides if you had a super BBC with hp SO HIGH that the LSX series of engine just can't get the hp high enough just how much are you going to spend on the IRS?

I mean you would'd have to swap out with tank treads or something to keep the rear end intack. That and two 5 ft wide tank tracks to keep the back end on the ground.

 

if your talkin about a bbc swap your dumb. and for saying any bbc would waste a ls1 is dumb. There are plenty of guys out there who run 346ci ls1 motors on pump gas N/A that put down 500rwhp and 500rwhp in a c6 set up properly is money. Due to the drivetrain issues w/just the ls1/ls2 motors think how that would hold up to a 650rwtq motor that u would consider putting in a ls1. by the time everything was said and done a lsx motor all motor small cubic inch w/the right suspension mods and drivetrain mods would hand any stock drivetrain bbc car you could build and beat it for years. but have fun spending countless hours on a bbc swap into a c6 and then swaping the rear over to a 9in cause you'll need it and a built auto cause no 6-speed will hold up to a bbc. but maybe its just me.

 

I dunno if there is enough room in that engine compartment and doesnt make a whole lot of sense moneywise, but again its your car so do as you wish and if it fits and if it does im sure it will fly. I think it will definately require some modifications of the engine bay as I was helping my buddy work on his 05 C6 last weekend and there didnt seem like there was enough for anything in there.

 

LSX motors have gone in the 7's alot lately and I personally am building a solid axle powerglide vette. It still has an LS based motor and I dont think a big block would make much sense or much more power than I plan. I believe with enough fabrication it would fit. Anything can be made to fit. Everyone has there own way, so good luck and be the first to cut the **** out of a C-6. Believe me when I say ,I know you will have to cut the **** out of it cause I did alot of fabrication just in the trans and rearend.

 

Why not consider a 408 w/ the APS twin turbo kit for the C6? Already worked out and packaged. Upgrade to bigger turbos and crank that biotch up til you reach about 1000 rwhp. That would be a roll race monster w/o all the package and plumbing headaches of a BBC TT retrofit.

 

Except for its going to throw off the weight distribution, and its more then 100 lbs. You're going to have a huge amount of money into headers as well. You'll need a bigger hood unless you want an air cleaner out in the air... There's a lot of downsides to it as well. There isnt really any advantage as far as power either. An LSX will make over 1000 RWHP, you can acheive more with a big block but what for? You'll blow the tires off anyways. And the LSX will fit better and drive better.
