Default reasoning behind the misspelling of the word "gauges"??

Just noticed last night as my "check gages" light came on for low gas that the spelling was odd... then noticed the dsc button was spelt the same way...

So is there some odd reasoning they spell it this way (gages istead of gauges??) or did it just slip through the makers?

Didn't know where to post so maybe get a response before it gets moved somewhere...

Wonder if it's one of those "translation errors" or something. LOL.

so when are they going to put "multi lingual" readouts in the vettes?

Well, technically it is not misspelled. It can be used.

Under the definition of "gauge":

Also, especially in technical use, gage

And in another entry:

Variant of gauge.
gauge also gage (gāj)
n.

A standard or scale of measurement.
A standard dimension, quantity, or capacity.
The distance between the two rails of a railroad.
The distance between two wheels on an axle.
An instrument for measuring or testing.
A means of estimating or evaluating; a test: a gauge of character. See Synonyms at standard.

Yet you spell "you are" as "your" instead of "you're". Weird.
