I would think that the zo6 would be way better than the ss and slightly better than the c6.
I've got a C5 Z06 that's been moded slightly (headers, open exhaust, Novi 2000 SC, Methonal) and the car has become very reponsive. I do agree that the new one has newer technology, however it depends on what you're buying it for. If you're going to mod it and drive it hard and get have that communication with the car, buy the C5 Z06. If you just want to buy a nice sport car and tell everyone you have a vette, then buy the C6. I have driven the C6 and I also gave a ride to the driver of C6 and we both agree my car is more fun.

I faced exactly this decision in the past couple of months. I chose the C6. Why? Mostly the body styling. The C5 is getting a little long in the tooth, in my eyes. My opinion is that the cars are so close performance wise that it boils down to picking your favorite body style.

While the C6 will cost you more than a comparable condition C5Z, there are very good deals to be had on both. This is the right time of year to buy. Good luck with your decision.

A C6 A6 traps 113 stock...with just exhaust, bolt ons,and a stall will run high 11s. The C5Z will runs mid 11s with exhaust and bolt ons. They are very close in performance with the slight edge going to the Z. But the C6 is much more refined.
The C6 would be my choice for that reason. GL

I sold my 04Z several months ago. Now looking to replace it, and I can afford the extra $10K for a newer C6 (non Z06), but I will purchase another 02-04Z06 without question. It was the feel of the car that I loved. you feel the road, you hear the engine, you ask her for something and she answers with a roar. I'm 40 years old, and I should lean more towards the refined C6, but when it comes down to it, I love the "feel" and "sound" of the C5Z06 more than the other.

I would suggest test driving both styles. What I like isn't necessarily what the next guy likes. After test driving both of them, decide for yourself. It seems like you're leaning more towards the C5Z...get it! You'll love it. If you like the C6, get it! You'll love it as well.

Just let us know what you decide.

I'm having the same dilemma. Both are good the C5Z ranges around 29-34k. If you do some hunting around can find a C6 for 35k or so. Bottom line is the C5z is alittle more hardcore, styling might be an issue. C6 is definitely more refined and I've heard its the best Vette yet and has huge performance potential. Very tough choice and I'm still twiddling my thumbs. lol
