The Exedy twin disc is in my H/C 03 Z06 and my sons T-A That has a H/C package with a 200 shot. The clutch has been a great performer for our applications.

Been through the Textralia and RAM HD. Currently have a SPEC 5. What issues are you having with your spec 5?

The clutch will slip in any gear after 3rd at full throttle. The clutch lets out right at the top of the pedal. I have adjusted the master to have a bit of free play at the top but still does not help. Clutch has less than 5 thousand miles on it. It has just started slipping recently.

I would never buy a Ram Twin again. Mine only lasted about 3000 miles and I had other shimming problems in the beginning to get it to even work right. Said it was rated a 1200 hp but with my 650 hp at the time would slip on power shifts.

So at what whp point will the stock one give up? I'll be around the 480-500whp mark very shortly and still have the stock clutch w/41k on it (still strong). I don't plan to launch very hard at the track (under 3k) and never power shift it. Road driving I rarely shift much over 6k too. I'm trying to decide on spending the $$ on a cam to get over 500whp or to upgrade the clutch first and do the cam next winter.

I currently have an Exedy Twin in mine. My car put down 544/556. The clutch started slipping about 2 months ago. I guess it lasted a decent time on street tires. It made it 20 months 20,000 miles before it slipped. Now I have put another 2,000 miles on it, with it slipping progressively worse. I am ordering a Textralia Dual this week though, I have heard nothing but good things about them.

Ahhh...then you shouldn't have used the shims. The shims are designed to ALLOW slippage. get rid of those, and bites harder then my X. I am useing NO shims.

Don't even consider a SPEC clutch. Worst piece of **** in the entire industry. The pressure plates come apart at HIGH RPM.

TEXTRALIA
EXEDY(not supposed to be great for drag racing apps)
RAM VDS. No complaints. No shims.

That is my suggestion as well. I have had my Ram in for almost a year now and it is perfectly fine. A twin disk is the way to go if you do any street driving at all.

Anything but a Spec.

The Ram Twin, Exedy, and Textralia are all great clutches.
