new Vette?

I have a dumb question, my uncle is on his way up north next week to the corvette factory to pick up his new vette. My mom said it came out today, so did a new vette get released or is it the same as the one you can get at the dealer? I dont see why he wouldnt just go to the dealer and get one rather than buying it from factory. he has been watching it get built online..

Same one at dealer, but an option you can buy is factory delivery, which lets you view the car as it comes off the line and sits in the bay waiting for delivery in Bowling Green. It costs about $500 and comes with a tour of the plant.
