Default Face Lift Tomorrow

I am sending my 2000 C5 A4 in to Straight Line Performance tomorrow. They will be installing some LG headers, LS6 intake, port & polishing the TB, and a dyno tune. I will post the results when I get the car back. I fully expect to get around 400 RWHP. I always need more power. Mike F.

Definitely keep us updated, I'm curious to see what you think about your throttle body upgrades.

Do you have any other mods? Or is there anything else going on? 400rwhp doesn't seem likely with just headers, intake, and tb. If you get 400 then that will make me very happy because I just ordered a set of LG's along with heads, cam, CAI, full exhaust!

I think 400 is a little out of reach for an A4. The headers are awsome and the LS6 is night and day better than the LS1 intake but I just being honest I will be very surprised if it nets you 400RWHP with an A4. It will move great but A4's don't put numbers on the dyno like a M6.

Sorry.

The car also has 1.8 to 1 Yella Terras and a Halltech CAI. I would be happy with 360 to 375. If I can figure out how to post a dyno sheet, I'll put it up when I can. Thanks Mike F.

With just that my friend I would be surprised if you put 350+ to the ground. Shoot you would need a big cam to reach 400, and by that time you would need a TC to keep it drivable (which would sap a few rear wheel ponies) and go back to a safer ratio on those rockers.

EDIT: BTW, I am basing this on what our A4 F-Body did with similar mods (F-Body's tend to dyno higher thanks to the live rear axle). Heck our A4 Camaro did 370rwhp with a TR 224 in it, and 388rwhp with a MTI X1.

Don't be too disspointed if it throws 340RWHP. Not bad for a bolt-on A4.

400 is definitely too high of an estimate. My Z06 only did 372 rwhp with exhaust, CAI, and a tune. Even then the only other bolt ons need would have been a ported TB and underdrive pulley and that would not gain 30 rwhp. I think 350 might be a good guess. Does the car have 241 heads?

Default It will be all good!!!!

Yeah, maybe 400 is asking for too much. It will certainly perform better than it did a couple of days ago. The entire team at Straight Line has been awesome. Even sent me pics this morning. Thanks Mike!!! Looks like I'll have to hit the piggy bank again if I want 400 RWHP. Thanks for all the replies, and I will be watching for Mike at Straight Line to post up the numbers.
Mike Fesi PS Just got a call from Mike, baseline before tuning with the mods installed 336hp, 336torque. Way to go StraightLine!!!!

I walked in just as the last dyno run was starting. Trippy, really trippy, but awesome. Straightline had my car sounding just f****g awesome. I think they got it up to about 120 mph under full throttle. What a sound!!! I am glad I did these mods, but I won't be able to drive the car for a few day because of the stupid snow. The guys at Straightline explained my dyno sheets and I learned a lot. Mostly, let the professionals do this kind of stuff. Again my thanks to the entire crew at Straightline, and thanks to all who replied. The final numbers were just at 347RWHP and 349 Torque. Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike Fesi
PS Dixonk, You should get to the 400 RWHP with the stuff you ordered. Mike at Straightline told me new heads and a cam will definately get you there. Good luck and let us know how your project turns out.

Next would be a new set of heads and a cam. And yes, you would need a baseball bat to knock the smile off my face!!!!!! This is one incredible automobile. It is my 5th corvette and it is by far the best one I have ever owned. Mike Fesi
