Default Headers on C-5

Hi everyone, Yesterday i had some Kooks headers and x-pipe with high flow cats , and 2 , 3" electric cutouts installed on my 04 C5. I can realy tell the diferance, and love the cutouts, but now i have an engine light!!!!

It has a little miss at certain rps also. No crissis, but where do i look first?

I already checked the plug wires, and none melted or anything, so what is next?

Thanks for any help.

My guess is one of the wires may have gotten pulled on and isnt making perfect contact anymore. Let it cool down and pull the wires and check to see if any ends feel loose or not on the hole way. Then if thats not the case I'd look at plugs cause one could be bad, dropped etc. Start there and let us know.

I would check the plug wires and buy some Kool socks for them. Also check your O2 sensors and make sure they are not crossed.

Had the codes pulled and it just showed multiple mis fires. I checked the wires and connections, but tey all looked good. But they are hard to get on and off, so it is posible i broke one (inside) and cant see it. Where is the best place to get wires and what kind? I know that seems like a dumb question, but i am learning very quickly that EVERYTHING matters.

Get some Taylor wires 10.4mm and by the heat socks for them too. Also to see if your wires are arcing go to your car at night and make sure it is dark and look at all your plugs to see if you see any sparks. My van also showed DTC for misfire that was the first thing I did then I checked the plugs and noticed one was arcing but earlier that day when I checked all looked fine because I couldn't see them.

I can almost bet its an O2 Sensor low response. That would be codes P1134, P1154 and P0135 if im not mistaken.

Go ahead and replace both o2 sensors and the wires shouldn't cost too much and you'll be good to go.

Well, changed the plugs and wires and cars doing great! I dont know if any wires were bad, and all the plugs looked ok for originals, but it was one or the other.

Thanks for the help and hopefully no more codes come up in the next few days.

You changed the sensors or the spark plugs? When you say plugs... you kind of throw me off.

Pretty sure he's referring to wires and spark plugs.

Yes I ment the spark plugs. But I drove the car to Lake Charles, Louisiana from Houston and back. Now i have another engine light. It is not missing and seemed to run fine. I guess i start with the O2 sensors now?
