Fuel Pump Differences
Fuel Pump Differences So because my fuel pump went out i am learning way too much about the wrong "facts".
I knew that there are 2 fuel tanks in the C5s, but i didnt know it had 2 fuel pumps... 2 DIFFERENT fuel pumps.
I really dont want to pay the dealer $1000+ to do something i would have no problem doing.
I also know that the 2003s used a different type of fuel tank, so the pumps are different.
But other than that are there any differences between the fuel pumps for the different years of C5s (97-02)? I have a 99 corvette, the fuel pump in question is for a 2002. Would it work?

Our kit has been bundled with the Walbro/LPE GRJ420 assembly for a number of years now. Nothing is glued in our C5 kits. We add some upgrades and improvements in our ad and sell them in kit format.
LPE carries our products and we carry theirs.

This is what it looks like before the bucket is assembled.
This pump will not work on 2003 ½ and newer fuel systems. This would be the VIN after 114930 (last six digits) built November 25, 2002.

I have no problem with your kit. It works well on my buddies f-body. In the past i saw one come apart in a corvette. **** happens. Im a big fan of my LPE pump as it took less then an hour to put in my z06.
What are the hp capabilities of the racetronix pump?

Perhaps you are confusing different aspects of different kits for different vehicle platforms?
The Racetronix C5 pump assembly is the same GRJ420/LPE unit with the added benefit of the new in-tank wiring and upgrade harness.

Nothing has changed other than the model number on the pump. We never used or included glue with our C5 kits. Perhaps you are thinking of the FLT1 kit where the factory bucket must be re-used and sealed back up? This has nothing to do with our C5 kit where the bucket snaps together and comes pre-assembled.

Stock lines can easily support 700HP but you should convert to a FM FPR setup.

wow, who dug this up?
i found out that the pumps may be the same, but the assemblies are different.
one model has the bolt holes spaced evenly, the other has half of them close and half of them spaced further
I wish i could go more into detail, but it was almost a year ago.

Do you know who makes a setup like this (the dual in-tank system)? I have an early production run 03 z06 with the pumps coming out the side by the rear driverside wheel.
