Default Tune with exhaust?
Im getting American Racing headers,high flow cats,and an x-pipe installed.Do I need a tune to go along with that? The guy thats doing the install said I dont.But wouldnt I get more hp out of the exhaust with one? Also wont it throw a code unless I get it done?

With a full exhaust a tune isn't needed but it will help clean up your a/f ratio.

i always say, just a catback, no tune, headers and all, you def want to get a tune. will run alot smoother and see more gains.

You'll definitely not get the full potential of a full exhaust without a tune. Make sure you have an air intake mod of some sort, even if it's just a zip tie mod, which works great for a lot of people.

I just went through all this a couple weeks ago. It is a pain if you dont get a tune. After messing around with it for a week i took my car to G Force. I will pick it up next week. Definatly save yourself the trouble and get a tune.

You will more than likely need a tune badly, I have never seen a car be happy after lt's.... it will go crazy on startup

Post up your results, I just added the ARH w/ Hi flow cats to my 99. I also added a LS6 intake and a ported TB. I am self tuning with EFI Live and am scheduled for some dyno time 24 March.

No problem,I should have them on within the next two weeks,still have to find someone local that can tune it.

Just a K&N filter in the stock air box,stilll deciding what to replace that with vararam? Halltech?...and a Z06 exhaust.I plan on doing H/C and intake later.

if a H/C is in your future.... get that, and a halltech. and THEN tune!

dont like the Vararam? The thing I dont like is you use the factory air bridge.

When I added a Tune to my Z06 with headers I picked up 12 rwhp for just the tune alone. It helps the car to be optimized.

Def get a tune, I was running real lean before it. A bolt on tune will normally run you about $185-$250. My car runs super smooth after it.
