Default Help me pick a cam please....

I have a 2006 A6 vette. I can't get a stall at the moment, but plan to as soon as one is available. I want to cam it in a bad way, I'm getting bored waiting for the stalls to come out.

My mods are as follows: 1 3/4 Kooks Headers, off road X, Borla stingers, Callaway Honker. Car has been a best of 12.2, no tune, stock tires.

I would like the cam to make good torque and power throughout the band, but don't mind one bit if it shakes at idle. I'd like an aggressive sound at idle. I want more power, but I want it to still drive like a vette, meaning well rounded. I don't want a cheater cam, I want it to be aggressive at idle.

The majority of my driving is on the street, most of my racing is random encounters, but I do go to the strip. I'd like to go in the 10s, (will need DRs and Stall, I know), but wouldn't be dissappointed with a car that ran mid 11s on street tires.

For now I'm on stock heads, I'm trying to buy a house in the next couple months so the heads will have to wait. A fast intake is a possiblity in the near future as well.

All in all, I know I'm asking alot but any suggestions or places to look would be greatly appreciated. I've been thinking about the MTI G1, and the comp 228/232, but would like to know what other people are running.

Sorry for the long *** post. Thanks,
Ed

Get a small torque cam, I had a 219/225/ 561 114lsa in my CTSV, Now that cam was speced out for a heavy 4000lbs ls6. My V made a crap load of torque for a baby cam and it would kill any Big cam V or supercharged V till 100. I think you can go alittle bigger but you should call Comp Cams and do a Cam request. Tell them what you want to do with your vette.... I will most likely never buy a pre-speced cam....

Look at the Futral F13. There are lots of people running that cam and it is a great choice for low end torque. I personally put a F14 in my Z06 and I loved it. Until my recent change for more cubes and a bigger cam. I would PM John@futralmotorsports on the board here.

Thanks for the replies guys, keep them coming.

Anyone have the G1 in their car and care to comment?

Any experiences with cam'd LS2s would be helpful.
