I have a friend at work who just bought an 02 ZO6. It has long tube hedders, aftermarket mid-pipe with high flow converters, short throw shifter, and some type of cold air intake system with a dual ram air intakes that extend down into the bumper covers. He is car illiterate and is asking me what he can do bolt-on wise to increase performance. Any suggestions?? Cat-back? throttle body? etc.?

he should find out if it has had a tune. If not that would really capitalize on the mods he already has. Lots of guys say the stock Ti exhaust (Zs have Titanium exhaust if he doesnt know that) are just as good and lighter than aftermarket Cat backs. Really depends on his budget from there. Cams, heads, etc. My $0.02

what is his goals with the car?
that intake sounds like a vararam which in my opinion i the best.
theres lots of upgrades that he can do ...
heads, cam, springs, 160 thermo, under drive pully, tune, nitrous,
supercharger, turbo the list goes on and only stops at how deep his pockets are

That's really all the bolt-on/external stuff you can do with the car besides a dynotune. Does he already have an underdrive pulley set? That's good for another 7 or so rwhp.
What about a new clutch? Gears?
Anything else and he'll be digging into the motor. A cam swap is good for over 400 rwhp (something like the Futral Motorsports F-13) and a heads/cam, FAST 90/90 setup is usually good for over 450rwhp. The new Trickflow LS1 heads are some nice pieces.
It all depends on what he wants to do.![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
BTW, shifting at redline is probably your best bet![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)

I agree with everyone else. If he wants big power with no lope then FI is the only way to go. A procharger ds1c at 7-8 psi will put him over the 500 rwhp mark and be scary fast on the street. Plus, the ls6 cam is already a proven blower cam so he doesnt even need to swap it out.

True, but personally I just love the twin screws...but cant beat the ds1c either with its proven performance.
