no,
dont see the point, in using diesel, unless it s for economy,
but then y not a ecotec? have the looks of a corvette with the economy of
a cobalt.
corvette doesnt need a motor with potential, it alredy has more than enuff
potential,
that is y C5R/C6R cars use a diesel motor to win at Le Mans

I wouldn't have one if it was free. They stink, they sound like they have no main bearings, they are heavy as a ship anchor. No thanks. Just give me twin turbos on a 427.

After seeing diesel 1 ton trucks that can nearly keep up with me... I'm convinced that those motors are worth a second look. I don't think I could own a corvette or any other car with a diesel, though... it just wouldn't sound right. Maybe better than a bumble bee though.

Who cares though, who in their right mind would ever think GM will offer a vette with anything other than a V8

How about,....."Yo scarlett,....I don't give a damn" and maybe, if you knew as much about the combustion engine as you do about "**** rentention" you might not come off so MUCH as a school marm.

Oh yes, definatly,
Tq rules the accelaration.
Diesel is a more efficient fuel the gas.
1 gallon of diesel has more power than 1 gallon of gas.
Twin turbo V8 diesel 5.7L in a 'vette would be awsome.
You think 28 ~ 31 mpg is good, , I bet a diesel "vette would be up in the 50 mpg, believe me.
I have had diesel cars for years, and if they had a diesel 'vette I would buy it.

Yea, in USA, who are light years behind with diesel tech.
Your gas prices are so cheap, you guy's never bothered about diesel power.

One day soon, you guy's will wake up to diesels.

Get yourself over to Europe and try a few new diesels out.

you will see a hydrogen powered vette before you seen a diesle one... IMO.

I would hope that with the new vette being supercharged that they make it E85 friendly.

the issues yall have are not what current car diesels are about. there are tons of small efficient and powerful diesels in europe. the Audi R10(racecar) was quiet as all ****, powerful as hell(800/900 think), AND got much better mileage than its psuedocompetition.

but i don't think the vette should, or will have a diesel.

I just read an article in Diesel World magazine about a car being produced in the UK with dimensions very close to the Corvette with a Duramax. The engine is said to produce 500hp, do 0-60 in about 4 seconds, and get 50 mpg at cruise. I might change my mind if it was available in the Corvette.

I thought about doing a Diesel Duramax swap into a camaro jsut for ***** and grins. Plenty of rolling chassis out there and can get a duramax off ebay pretty easy. Of course it would smoke all to hell and that part is what sucks obout the big d's. If it was in a vette it would be intersting. ANd I am sure if GM put a deisel in a corvette it would be a bit refined to the point you may not even tell it was.
