Wheel hop??

Wheel hop??

i am sure this has been addressd but what are some ways to help reduce this?

I have an automatic 07. I eliminated mine with Z06 shocks. I had previously installed a Z51 rear bar with polyurethane bushings and still had wheel hop. Combination of both, I doubt. I think the shocks were the key but can't say for sure that it did not take both.

I only have wheel hop when my tires or the pavement is cold. Different tires will make a difference.
As you already know wheel hop sucks!

well i already got the z51 package i might look into zo6 shocks, thanks for the input

move to a softer compound tire. drag radials work wonders

You will still get wheel hop with sticky tires when doing a burn out. Once they start to grab be ready. If you don't have to do a burn out then you may not get wheel hop with the stickys.

You might be correct....but my car used to wheel hop like crazy on a regular tire. Now with the drag radial, it won't wheel hop even when the tire is sticky and I'm using VHT. So in my experience...the drag radial eliminated the wheel hop.

Like said abovem the tires you have will reduce the problem. But no matter what kind of tire you have you can still get wheel hop. Wheel hop is caused by the tires trying to catch up to each other. The tires flex and will wobble out of balance causing wheel hop.

Wheel hop is expensive and will break halfshafts, replacements are about $400 a piece.
