C5 Z06 to Viper?? worth it?
C5 Z06 to Viper?? worth it? I am keeping my Z06 but now the itch is getting me already. I want one last toy before I move into ahouse and start my "grown up" life. Ive decided on a 02-03 viper GTS or RT/10 (depending on the deal) I see a few at auctions but I am prob gonna buy one off ebay since they are a lot cheaper on there or if my dealership gets on traded in within a few weeks. Anyway, I know the 02 had the 8.0 and the 03-up have the 8.3. Whats the hp difference? Does anyone even have a Viper on this forum?? Any issues I should watch out for or know about before hand? I know I should prob get into some viper forums and I prob will very soon. Just wanted some vette owners comments.

The 02 is the older design, and the 03 is the newer design (convertable only that year)
The 8.0 isn't the same as the 8.3, they are similar designs but the parts aren't interchangable.
The prices for a '97 GTS is about the same as a '99 GTS... You might as well get one that's bottomed out that you can sell for what you payed for...

I did a LOT of searching today and found a pretty good deal.
2001 Viper RT-10 yellow 7K miles. stock. very very good shape for $41K clean title and all. I am prob gonna grab it thrusday if the test drive is ok.
