I installed a Raptor shift light. With a small piece of two sided tape attaching the bracket and light 3/4 up the driver side "A" pillar. The wires tuck neatly under the "A" pillar cover.

I programmed the little "shift 1 to 4" light to come on. I haven't been to the track to really test it out, but at least I got it to turn on. Right now it turns on at 2000 RPMS (just where I set it for testing). I thought it was pretty cool that I could get it to do that though

Agreed. I'm assuming you changed the CAGS parameters in the tuning. But, did you have to use a CAGS eliminator to keep from getting CAGS activated at your shift points?

Ziptied the Raptor mount to the metal elbow bracket that attaches the sunvisor to the roof. Put it there temporarily to try it out, but never moved it. Location is perfect...can't miss it, but hardly noticable. In fact, with the visor flipped down, you can't see it at all.

I run the Raptor on the pillar, and have used the skip shift (reprogramed) to come on at my launch rpm. You can see it with periphial vision to help keep ya in your rpm. Trying to find the shift light in the hud at 100+ mph and slamming gears, good luck, it's not bright enough.

I use a Raptor on the a-pillar and love it. It's bright as hell even in the sun and very easily seen in your peripheral view.

These are bad pics, but should give you an idea how mine is setup. I posted these earlier in another thread but can't find them. Sorry, not trying to create duplicate content here Anyway as others have said, mounted on the A-pillar.

I never bought a guage pod setup for my pillar because I did not want my car to be obvious to cops or to other people on the street. I ended up just buying a carbon fiber Autometer gauge cup for my duel fuel pressure/boost and mounting that high on the a-pillar, then mounting my Raptor just below it. It is bright as hell in the day time and it's not even aimed directly at my eyes. I think if you did aim these things straight at your eyes you would get Lasik surgery with every shift.

Anyway here are the pics. Again, notice how visible it is from inside the car, but not visible from outside the car. Exactly what I was hoping for.

If you still need one, give us a call at 800-364-1975 or on the web at http://www.mphparts.com.

OH! Almost forgot. Here's an install tip. You can wire up the Raptor inside a C5 (and I'm assuming an Fbody?) 100% inside the car using wiring just underneath the a-pillar, behind the knee bolster. If I remember correctly I removed two 8mm screws underneath the bolster, then popped off the plastic under-dash piece so I could see all the wiring. There are two wiring bundles that ride up the left side into/around the cluster, one of which has 3 white wires in it. This is your bundle. One of the three white wires is your tach signal. Easiest way to find it is to get a pin of some sort (I used a baby pin), wrap some wire around it to make a solid connection, ground the other end of the wire, and probe each of the three wires. On my car, grounding one of the wires lit up something on the dash, the other one did nothing, and the last one I tried (of course!!) made the tach go crazy. This is the wire you need. There's also obvious +12v (in a pink wire if I recall correctly) and ground in that same bundle. So the wiring from my Raptor is probably less than 3 feet and everything is done underneath the dash. Nice and clean.

Call if you need some help figuring that out, it's pretty straightforward, I may even have some pics around here somewhere.

Thnkas Tony for the pictures and for the info on the wiring part of it. I ordered a dual autometer gauge pod for the a-pillar along with a a/f ratio gauge and a autometer shiftlight. Can't wait to get them monday and install them. Will post pictures when done. I got the cobalt gauges

Not a problem -- the Autometer should install similarly to the Raptor in terms of wiring, so hopefully that info ends up being useful for your install.
