Not my cup 'o tea dawg, but to each their own. My opinion would be to just get a FRC/Z06, or a base model. If you're wanting the targa, get the base model and mod to perform. Either way, you're gonna have a nice ride!

Sounds like a lot of trouble to me. It would be nice if you could find a coupe for 8000 because it would be a lot easier to put zo6 badges and brake ducts in.

Wow.

Anyway, to convert a Z06 into a coupe, you'd also have to change the B pillar/roof skin as that is also completely different. You'd have to use coupe quarter panels as well, and obviously find a hatch. I'm sure it's possible, the cars afterall are based on the same platform. Whether or not it'd be worth the trouble/cost is up to you.

Personally, I vastly prefer the FRC/Z06 look...

I think your looking at more money to do this than you think....

Your taking about chopping off the top of a car that was never intended to have the top chopped and then adding hatch glass? Z06's are notorious for power sure, but their handling outweighs their power production. Id be concerned to what this does to the overall handling of the car. Id also be willing to say that if your going to do this, and you havent done it before, id have a shop do it for sure that has vast experience in this.

Personally, id fix the Z06 your talking about, put a few grand into making it look right, and cruise on. I loved my t-tops in my SS, but once your in the Z06, you forget real quick about not having them. Take a circle on ramp at 70+mph and call me in the morning.

Ok There Seems To Be A Lot Of Confusion. I Do Not Want A Removable Roof. Only The New B-pillar, Hatch, Rear Quarters, And Rear Bumper. My Question Is, Will It All Bolt Up And Has Anyone Done It? I Want A Fixed Roof Coupe Still But After The Fixed Rood Part I Want The Coupe Look. I Will Not Cut Into Anything. I Dont See Where All This Cinfusion Is Coming From I Thought I Made My Intentions Clear. Im Not Mad But I Want Everyone To Be On The Same Page And Obviously Its Not Getting Through To Some Of Us Here.

The confusion is because you want to do the exact opposite of what everyone else would do. You want to take the top of the line and put on parts from a base model. All those kits you've seen are to turn a coupe into a z06, not the other way around.

You might as well be asking how to fit a Chevy Cavalier hood on a Trans Am...I dont think anyone has tried it before.

I also think you will be opening a huge can of worms with a $8000 wrecked ZO6. It will never to the same fixed and will take a lot of work to even get it close.

It was hit in the back no damage other than its missing the rear quarter panels and the rear bumper is damaged and the back windshield is cracked. So since im replacing the quarter panels, bumper, trunk, glass etc, can i just bolt on all the back peices of a factory targa and have a hard top slant back z06? has it been done before? i know the trunk and stuff is different but i could probably just customize it.

I'm converting my coupe to an FRC.

Since you already got the Z06 picked out, it won't be that hard to do.

I'll have most of the parts you would need to do conversion in a couple of months.

Drop me a PM.

Here is my project in the making.

You'll use different fenders and rear top structure. The rear tubs are the same.

You'll need the hardware, hatch top, mouldings, etc. I'll have all of it in mint condition if you're interested.
