First load of 2008 Corvettes 
We got our first load of new 2008 Corvettes today. Got one new Z06, one convertible and 6 coups. The last of the 2007 Corvettes we received for the year were on the transport truck too. They were 3 of the Indy 500 Pace Car replica convertilbes. I found it strange that GM could not get those cars built before the race which was on May 28th. The 2008 Corvettes have the new LS3 engine 376 cubic inch maiking 430 HP and 424 FTLBS of torgue. New base wheels are of a split spoke design and come in a silver painted finish with a comptition gray finish as an optional finish on the split spoke wheels. The chrome wheels and polished five spoke wheels are still an available option too. The interior has been slightly upgraded too. As soon as one goes though PDI I'll take it for a spin and give you my impression of the mid model upgrades to the car.

Here is the new base wheel, the new simulated carbon fiber trim on the consol along with the new fob and key. The stereo now has a jack for a Ipod on the face too. The simulated carbon fiber with the simulated stiched leater trim around it really looks much better than the silver painted consol that was on the 2005-2007 models which was I guess supposed to look like brushed aluminum. I hated that painted stuff and many of my customers changed it for the carbon fiber interior trim or the body colored interior trim that was a dealer installed accessory.
Nice.... not the new wheels though.
That's not real carbon fiber is it?
*edit- you made the post about the simulated carbon as I was writing. It's still cool though, as long as the simulated layer doesn't delaminate 7-10 years from now.

The use of the word simulated means it is not real carbon fiber..it is just fancy plastic dude this is a Corvette

They were supposed to do those last year and it never happened.
If anyone wants in depth info on the 2008 C6 Corvette type in GM Media Online just like I spelled it and hit the enter button and you will have 11 pages of stuff to read. I should have posted that stuff a couple of months ago when it first became available..so shoot me for being a lazy ****..

I am not that excited about the wheels either. Going to send a set out and have them chromed and see if they are any more apealing. Keep in mind that the 5 spoke wheels in a chrome or polish finish are still available.
