do i have to take of my head unit to replace my belt?

If it's a stock tensioner setup, you should be able to, from the drivers side, with no tools at all, grab the belt, on the top side of atlernator, and pull it off by hand. It's actually easy.
Putting it on, depending on which size pulley you have, will be a tad bit harder. But, I pretty much do the same thing. I get the belt on everywhere but, the alternator. Grab a good handful of belt, and pull/curl it on. No head unit removal needed.
However, I am having a belt problem as well. I think I have gone through 8 so far. Starting to get pissed.
