Always date pre-med chicks in college. Sooner or later you'll find one that doesn’t hate you and they will be a doctor 4 years after you don’t graduate. It worked great for me

Stay away from credit cards. You’d be very surprised to see how easy it is to save $30k if you have a steady job and no bills. I put $30k down on mine and paid the rest off on a 1 year loan.

I put $10,000 down when I was 19 on a 2002 Z06 with 7500 Miles. Its just in what you want to buy at what time and what you want to do with it. I buy/sell cars constantly. If I buy a car, I usually have it for about 3-5 months and try to come out with $3,000 after tax title, etc and after driving it during those three months.
I paid $30,000 for the Z06, I sold it for $32,000 + Shipping costs...

I am thinking about a C6 ZO6, but they are way over priced right now. They are the new hot **** thing, so there is a nice premium attached to them. I am thinking about looking at a 3 year old one here in a couple of years. At that point the new hoopla should have died down and some else can eat the first three years of depreciation. Since most vette owners do not beat the hell out of the cars, the chances of finding a nice good condition three year odl are pretty good.

I started my own parts business when I was 16, I am now the majority share holder of 4 different major after market distributors and I will be 22 this October. I picked up my R34 GTR skyline (of course it's not registered or street legal) in June. My first was a vette was a 2003 Z06. My first car was a '89 RS camaro with and later swapped an LT4 into it. Although I owe everything to my father for taking out the business loan to get my foot in the door. Oh and my daily is a 1996 nissan 240sx haha.

I've got to be one of the "kings" of upgrade. In the 35+ cars I've owned, many the same but one step better each time, and the 30 years of being a car nut, I gotta tell ya.. it isn't a profitable way of life. I've made a couple bucks on cars, and lost a few (or a few more than few) but all in all... I aint going to my grave saying "I shudda.."
It's just a car. Buy it, enjoy it. If times change for you.. sell it. You're not going to make money on it. Just face the fact and get over it. Any mods you make to it, you'll probably loose that money plus de-value the car... but you'll have enjoyed it.
In my driveway right now.. 7 cars, a motorhome, 2 4-stroke jet skis, a shtload of motorcycles... and tomorrow, I might sell it all. So what. I had fun.

save, save, and save. I'm 18 years old, bought my Camaro with cash when I was 16 after saving for one since I was 10 and knew that's what I wanted. Modded the hell out of my Camaro, ended up trading it in along with a decent chunk of change for my Vette last month (even though I swore I'd never sell the Camaro) and lost my shirt on it. Then again that happens whenever you mod a car I guess. I now own my C5 free and clear. If you want something bad enough, put your mind to it and it'll be yours. Granted my car was much less than a C6 Z06 but I'm young, worked my rear end off and it all paid off. so my advise is just to evaluate your priorities and if the Z06 is at the top of your list, work your *** off until it's in your garage.

Im 25 with a 02 Z06 with newly added AFR 205 and the works to boot......Its called work, work, and more work at a good paying job! You just have to make sure you can afford all the other things you will need as far as another car to drive winter/rainy days and insurance! Anything can be done with the right effort and goal....

started with a 1992 RS camaro for 3200 with my dad cosigning, sold it to my friend in high school after 8 months and bought a 1995 Z28 camaro for 6500 and no cosigner. kept that car, threw heads/cam/full bolt ons into it and traded it in on my 2001 Z28 camaro for 16,500. Kept the 01 for 6 months, had some problems with detonation and decided i wanted an 03 cobra, vette, or a supra.
found my car at my dads friends dealership on the lot for 27,999. it was a little beat up but i got it for about 5k under book at the time with roughly 65k miles on it. Ive had it and modfied the hell out of it for the last 2 years and drivin the wheels off the thing. it now has 95k miles on it
when i was 17 i got a job as a cad monkey with a friend of the family. Ive now worked here for 4 years and have more than trippled my wage i started at when i was 17 years old. All my credit cards are paid off and im bringing in about 60k a year with NO schooling other than some concurrent enrollment college drafting classes i took in high school.
Experience is the key... schooling will only get you so far and without real world experience means jack ****. Im set for life with my experience and my success and will be retired and sitting pretty at a pretty young age im sure. Screw student loans, screw college students who come out of school as zombies with no experience and bills out the ***. College is NOT something that is a 100% definitive factor in being successful. A good positive out look on life and a desire to prosper will get you a long ways. Confidence in interviews will also get you leaps and bounds, personality and drive still goes a lot further than a paper saying your accomplished and smart.

I bought a 91 z camaro when i was 16, made 4k proffit off of it in 9 months with just doing body and paint work. Then I bought a 2000z 28, beleave it or not I made some money off sellin it. I was 18 at the time. I bought my 2003 zo6 50th aniv, bright yellow, with 7800 miles on it when I was 20. I WORKED MY *** OFF for the last few years to get it. I EARNED IT! Now I just walk out into my garage and smile. I put a few thousand miles on it in the year Ive owned it. I hate seing kids in my area thats parents bought vetts for. I personally have met 2 of them both were c6 zo6`s. It makes me wana puke. They have no respect for the car. They abuse them every second.
Their is nothing wrong with young guys like me owning these cars as long as they earned it and respect them.
