Just had the 98 in my sig in an accident about a month ago so now i'm in the process of getting the last of the difference together to move up to the vette. I never took the trans am to the track and I've thought about making the switch for a while, so this was a natural decision for me. I didn't have the heart to get rid of the t/a, so now that it's gone the decision was a little easier than if I had to sell it.

Making sure I get a damn black interior in my black car this time because that was one thing that always bugged me. I'll miss the aggressive look of the t/a though; I had planned on getting a ws6 hood in the next few months after owning the car for 6 years (was a poor college student). That car was a blast for sure .

Hopefully I'll find a good deal in december and then she'll stay tucked in the garage until it warms up around march .

I just picked up my '02 coupe a week ago (only 15.5k on it) but I haven't sold my Z28 yet. When I compare the Corvette to the Z28, the ride feels almost luxurious by comparison- and it's much more nimble. I still miss the raw power of the Z28. I took the Z28 out today and it really is fun to drive. I also love my shifter in the Z (B&M Ripper), it's much better than the stock shifter in the vette. That being said, the vette is the better car- No two ways about it. I know I'm going to prefer it in the long run.

I've heard the same thing about insurance going down. Here's hoping, since i'm sure mine went up a bit after my claim when the t/a was totaled.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the demographics of a "typical" vette driver. Generally they're older than fbody drivers seem to be.

Your insurance will go down. The vette is rated like a 23 and the TA is like a 27 on their risk scale.

like every one is sayin its the vette is so much better of a car. i had a 99 M6 camaro z28 with complete bolt on and it was just as fast my stock 02 zo6 but the vette is so much nicer.....the interior is much nicer and door panels dont raddle like the f bodies do

You might miss the back seat and it is a little higher off the road, but as far as performance theres nothing like a Vette
I sold my 01 WS6 about 2 years ago and just recently picked up an 03 Zo6 love the vette....
I feel a little lost underneath the vette though it is such a different technology. Where as I could get under the T/a and do just about everything the IRS and TQ Tube Scare me a little....
- I agree with you that the T/ a is just getting old thats why I sold... Good Luck on the decision.

$534 every 6 months, and I am 23 single, with a ticket in the last 36 months

I was very happy with this quote

I actually miss my Z28. I'm thinking of ditching my C5 for a WS6. Yes the C5 is a better built car, comfortable and all but I don't feel connected to the road like I did in my 4thgen. I HATE HATE HATE HATE the IRS. It's my first IRS car and after a year I'm still not used to it.

And NO! thats what i hate about the camaro is that it will never be really good at anything but drag, without alot of money I dont have. I want a car that will tear up curves.

If you want a car that will tear up the curves, then the corvette is the way to go. I too was in Iraq and that is how I bought my vette. I have never been happier with a decision in my life. My wife has to peel me out of the car and it is just stock right now. This winter it is going to my friends shop in New Lenox and getting everything done. Then I really wont want to get out of it!!!

I just bought a Z06, but I'm trying to hang on to my Z28. They are two totally different animals. The C5 is light on its feet, has great brakes and feels "sporty". The Z28 is just a mean and nasty street brawler that encourages you to get in trouble. I love 'em both...
